Niitek (9/08-7/2015) Senior Mechanical Designer Dulles, VA Using Creo 2.0 and Windchill 10.2, I was part of Niitek’s R&D team, designed components for ground penetrating radar (GPR) landmine detection systems. I have designed complex electronic enclosures for the R-VISOR robotic landmine/IED detection system. I was Senior Mechanical Designer on the Groundshark Handheld Detection System that miniaturized the larger HMDS GPR system into a handheld unit weighing 7 lbs. All of the handheld components were designed and built for 3D prototype printing and plastic injection molding production. ILS (International Launch Services) (Part-time work; 2012-2014) Senior Mechanical Designer Reston, VA Using Creo 2.0, I developed MICD (Mechanical Interface Control Drawings) relating to the launch of commercial spacecraft on the Russian Proton M/Breeze M launch vehicle.
Vantage Systems (7/07- 09/08) Senior Mechanical Designer Lanham, MD Using Creo 1.0, provided senior GSE mechanical design support to NASA’s Express Logistics Carrier (ELC) program located on-site at the Goddard Space Flight Center. Developed concept, fabrication and assembly drawings of complex fixtures required for mechanical/thermal qualification testing of ELC flight mechanisms. These components are now part of the International Space Station.
General Dynamics Land Systems (6/07-7/07) Senior Mechanical Designer Woodbridge, VA Using Wildfire, I developed hydraulic pipe routing “modification kits” for the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) project. BAE Systems (3/07-6/07) Senior Mechanical Designer Johnson City, NY Using Wildfire, I developed conceptual CAD models for electric motor drive interface components for the Future Combat Systems Multifunction Utility/Logistics Equipment (MULE) hybrid electric unmanned vehicle.
Fibertek (11/05-3/07) Senior Mechanical Designer Herndon, VA Using Wildfire, I created various electrical flex circuit board configurations, assemblies and detail drawings for defense related optical laser systems. Designed for assembly, electrical/mechanical interfaces for these systems.

Borg Warner Turbo Systems (2/03-7/03) Senior Mechanical Designer Ashville, NC Using ProE, I utilized various data sets (IGES, UG, and imported scanned surfaces), to reverse engineer turbocharger components (turbine/compressor wheels and housings) into CAD models/assemblies/drawings using ANSI Y14.5M 1994 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards.
Williams International (10/01-11/02) Senior Mechanical Designer Walled Lake, MI Using ProE,I developed complex aerospace tooling designs for 3 and 5 axis milling, turning, (plunge and wire EDM electrodes/fixtures), laser/conventional welding, water jet and sheet metal stamping/forming applications related to the EJ22 engine program. Pro/Process for Manufacturing was utilized for detailed documentation of these machining process steps.

Lucent (5/01-6/01) Senior Mechanical Designer Norcross, GA Using ProE, I was part of a team, designing multi-piece, high tolerance (±.0005), plastic injected molded fiber optic connectors.
Thomas Built Bus (2/01-3/01) Senior Mechanical Designer High Point, NC Utilized Pro/Process for Assembly to develop process sheets of engineering assembly data (new generation school bus), which were then passed to the manufacturing floor. CFM Technologies (2/00-2/01) Senior Mechanical Designer Exton, PA Using a systems approach, developed multiple manufacturing fixtures for roto molding semi conductor wafer cleaning modules. Developed CNC tool paths using Pro/NC and Pro/NC-Post software for conventional and right angle machining operations.
Universal Furniture (11/99-2/00) Senior Mechanical Designer Morristown, TN Developed automation tools, i.e., start parts, smart parts, and assembly automation, using embedded logic via Pro/Program that interfaced with Visual Basic user inputs. Developed automated drawings using Pro/Engineer’s drawing program.
Demag DeLaval Turbo Machinery (5/99-11/99) Senior Mechanical Designer Trenton, NJ Using ANSI Y14.5M 1994 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, I developed highly automated Pro/Manufacturing CNC turning sequences using Pro/Program. These sequences allowed manufacturing to machine forty-eight different variations of the same Pro/E CAD model by using programmed logic in a single CNC program.
Volvo Penta (3/99-5/99) Senior Mechanical Designer Chesapeak, VA Using ProE as a team member, created CAD models/drawings from 2D legacy data using ANSI Y14.5M 1994 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. These models consisted of castings, sheet metal brackets/clamps, high-pressure hoses and piping.
VDO North America (8/97-3/99) Senior Mechanical Designer Winchester, VA Using ProE and ANSI Y14.5M 1994 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, I created CAD models/drawings of a plastic injection molded instrumentation cluster for Freightliner Trucks. Recorded testing data matrices for these instrumentation cluster components. Developed data exchange techniques between Pro/E and VeriBest ECAD software. Utilized DFMEA and DFMA for manufacturing line fixturing. Developed metrology inspection techniques using Pro/CMM.
Tracor Aerospace (8/95-8/97) Senior Mechanical Designer Falls Church, VA Developed a Pro/Engineering and Pro/Manufacturing environment for a government client. Designed, from concept, multiple part electronic enclosures. Created CNC tool paths for 3-axis wire EDM, 3-axis VMC and horizontal lathe using Pro/Manufacturing. Created post processors for CNC milling machines and CNC wire EDM using Pro/NC-Post. Developed techniques that utilized the Pro/Engineering/Pro/Manufacturing data in a rapid prototyping/reverse engineering environment.
