Senior Manager – Engineering Program Mgmt Office                                               2011 to 2015

Honeywell Aerospace – Engine Actuation & Controls – Tucson Az

I proposed and gained authorization to create and deploy an "Engineering Program Management Office"
to address several needs. In addition to leading the execution of every product initiative, demonstrating
program control, and meeting all commitments, this hub of the enterprise is responsible for assessment
of competitive intel, product line strategy, and platform development innovation. After implementing the
tactics of the EPMO, we were able to bring the triple constraint metrics for every program within control
limits. The portfolio was optimized using EPMO strategies. New platform architectures were engineered
to distinguish us, with disruptively innovative new capability. And we are capturing our pursuit programs
at much higher rates, rapidly meeting demand, and aggressively growing again. We’re meeting every goal originally established for the EPMO

    Accomplishments:

    • Created the EAC Engineering Program Management Office and dedicated product focus EPM teams

    • Managed SPI/CPI/RMI fidelity and Earned Value on all programs to aggressive metrics for each purpose

    • Managed global workforce teams and cross functional IPT engagement plans to satisfy all goals successfully

    • Managed successful design/integration/validation of HW/SW platforms to DO-178B Level A/DO-254 cert reqs

    •    Managed wkly EPMO/monthly Sr Leadership/Customer Rvws, and commits coordination with EPMO tools

    •    Managed, trained, mentored all EPM and PE staff with new standards/tools/processes designed for EAC

Executive Consult – Eng Pgm Mgmt | Operations | New Bus Dev                           2009 to 2011

Honeywell Aerospace – Engine Actuation & Controls – Tucson Az

I proposed and gained authorization to create and execute this role. New business development and new

    Director – Corporate Strategy & Development                                                           2007 to 2009

Ventana Medical Systems Inc – CS&D – Tucson Az

VMSI's Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development recruited me to direct enterprise
capability improvement strategy development, product development infrastructure gap closure planning, and tactical execution of these initiatives. VMSI was assessed at less than CMMI level 1 when I started
this role. And only 24 months later we were assessed at CMMI level 3.5 by an independent agency that
projected our improvement plans would have the organization at CMMI level 5 in less than 12 additional
months. This would be the fastest organizational capability growth from level 1 to 5 the auditing agency
had seen to date. We piloted all of the improvements in our Symphony Solutions Capture business and
saw large improvements in every category.

    Accomplishments:

    •    Created a Systems Engineering Organization and a Program Management Organization to close org gaps

    •    Created a focused Software Engineering Organization to ensure robust proper development and certification

Director – New Business/New Product Development                                                 2005 to 2007 Environmental Systems Products – Dev Center for Adv Technology – Tucson Az

I was recognized for my achievements in the NBD/NPD lead role at Honeywell by the leadership of ESP.
And I was recruited by ESP's CEO to lead his new product development and new business development
activity for renewable energy systems and advanced materials; a huge growth market opportunity for the
company. I accepted the challenge, analyzed the infrastructure and funding needs, and proposed that we
create a development center for advanced technology systems (DCAT) to address capability gap issues
in the enterprise. I received authority to create the center and execute this new leadership
role. After I built and staffed the center the intrapreneurial promise of "DCAT" was recognized by a large and very well funded conglomerate. ESP was aggressively
pursued and successfully acquired during the early stages of harvesting the benefits of all this work

    Accomplishments:

    • Created the ESP Strategic Plan for Growth in Renewable Energy Systems – 2, 5, and 10 year roadmap

    • Strategically planned, pursued, and captured funded contracts with CARB, SCAQMD, ICAT, AZDEQ, others

    •    Created total of 8 renewable energy system pipeline products and established alliances with 4 partners

    •    Created the Development Center for Advanced Technology and built it out completely from the ground up

Engineering Manager – New Business/New Product Development                       1997 to 2005

Honeywell Aerospace – Engine Systems and Services – Tucson Az

I recognized a void in the organization between business management and product development at the
business front end. I created a business case with an organizational solution for closing this gap. And I
presented it to the Honeywell Aerospace Executive Leadership Team. Some time later, I was extended
the opportunity to create and personally lead the new organization in an executive capacity. This venue
combined the features of advanced technology and product concept development, with proof of concept
demonstrations, and new business development, corporate intrapreneurship, and strategic partnerships
development. It showcased our skills with; propulsion engines, power systems, and automatic controls. I secured more than $5B in investment and we generated orders of magnitude more in product revenues from the new business volume we generated
