Investigation into the policy of defence spectrum sale and sustainability of military systems. Most of the work supports improvements to enhance the safety of Armed Force personnel.

    CUTLASS Remote Control Bomb Disposal Remote Control Vehicle (RCV) Radio System Expert – influencing the design to ensure high integrity and secure communications to enable the safe deployment and operation of a robot in many different physical scenarios. The robots are often weaponised, therefore, I reviewed and authorised the Test Plan and electromagnetic (EM) testing of the robot to ensure safe operation in a high RF environment; frequency planning and protection, critical to protect the Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operator.

    Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Novel EM Techniques – advising on the integration of equipment into vehicles, a potentially hostile EM environment, and in the production of equipment and systems to meet the requirements of CE or Defence Standard EM performance. Advising on the impact and mitigation of EM problems to system safety, i.e. the un-commanded firing of a weapon or the inadvertent movement of equipment which may cause injury or death.
