Responsibilities in Spacecraft Operations Centre (SOC):
Perform scheduled and non-scheduled activities associated with the operations of Yahsat/Thuraya satellites.
Operate, configure and monitor satellite subsystems, including: Power, Thermal, Reaction Control, Attitude, TT&C, and Communications.
Perform station keeping maneuvers, battery reconditioning, eclipse and other routine operations.
Maintain and operate ground station TT&C equipment: Antenna Control Units, Command, Ranging and Telemetry.
Maintain and operate front-end processors and associated computers.
Monitor and analyse satellite generated telemetry data for anomalous satellite conditions and took appropriate actions as required.
Recognize report and determine the correct response to all satellite or ground discrepancies in a timely manner by instituting appropriate satellite emergency procedures and other specified instructions.
Provide detailed reports and support documentation for all satellite discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, and software issues and communications outages. Maintain high proficiency in the use of computer operating systems and programs and special used custom designed computer programs and analysis tools utilized in the Satellite Control Centre. Maintain accurate record of all SOC and GROUND activities in electronic log books. Record daily RF equipment readings.
Responsibilities in Advance Operations Centre (AOC) and Ground station OMC (GSOMC):
Assist planned and unplanned activities related with the maintenance and development of Satellite Ground Control Equipment.
Interface with engineering team for the implementation of system upgrades to support major operations projects and major activities described in the Operational System.
Interact with the ground stations maintenance teams and industry representatives to ensure optimized performance by the ground stations, including participating in the definition, specification, and implementation of any changes.
Plan and co-ordinate for upgrades, repairs, and evolutions with the engineering teams.
Organize the validation of upgrades, repairs, and evolutions with the Controller Teams.
Definition and maintenance of ground station operations procedures and operations guides.
Maintaining operational ground stations databases.
Resolving Customer related cases for voice and packet services, which were also comprised of live testing.
Investigation into anomalies, their documentation, classification and correction/mitigation, participate in associated Anomaly Review meetings.
