    Physical/Analytical Chemist

    EU Citizen (Spain), Venezuelan

    RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

    Spectroscopy/Spectrometry

Including my PhD studies, I have over 10 years of experience in several spectroscopic techniques from the UV to IR, with a variety of applications to atmospheric chemistry, astrobiology and forensics/security. Spectrometry mastering includes thermal lensing, photoacoustic, and time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOF/MS)

    Hand-on experimental setups

I have acquired expertise in assembling, tuning, operating and troubleshooting high and ultra-high vacuum and cryogenic systems. In order to carry out some laser spectroscopic studies, I have designed instrumentation comprising the integration of commercially and customized elements. Additionally, I have incorporated commercially-manufactured spectrophotometers to perform studies under extreme experimental conditions.

    Theoretical modelling and IT skills

Since the beginning of my career, I have been working with electronic structure calculations using the Gaussian, Inc. software, and other software packages. I have also developed analytical models of photochemical reactions.

    Data analysis and interpretation

During my entire career, I have become proficient at handling and analyzing datasets from quantitative-structure relationship and from experimentally measured properties of materials at both, general mainstream and detailed levels.

Preparation of comprehensive and accurate reports

I have presented the results of my work in articles in leading science journals, as well as orally in a range of environments, from major to international conferences to general audience talks.

    Communication skills

My communication skills are very well stablished, both orally and in writing, and have been honed by working in multidisplinary and multicultural environments with teams of scientist and engineers from many different parts of the world. I am a confident and efficient communicator in English and Spanish.
