I am a recent graduate in Aerospace Engineering, with relevant scientific experience in programing and numerical simulation and applied knowledge in atmospheric re-entry, rocket propulsion and wind turbines. I am also an experienced traveller and hobbyist. Driven by scientific curiosity, I aim to make my own contribution to humankind’s progress. My main interests are space exploration, aeronautics, automotive industry and sustainable energy.

Oct 2014 - Nov 2015 - Master’s thesis: High Temperature Modelling of Transport Properties in Hypersonic Flows
Implemented computation of Transport properties on the SPARK aerothermodynamics and CFD code, to model the dissipative processes inside the shock layer. Advanced object-oriented programming techniques were used for large code management and computational efficiency (FORTRAN 2008). Performed a comprehensive study on hypersonic atmospheric re-entry and high temperature plasma effects, including chemical and thermal non-equilibrium (multi-component and multi-temperature models), with particular depth on diffusion of charged particles. Applied on the CFD simulation of an experimental re-entry probe. Grade: 17/20
Aug - Sep 2015 - Internship (2 months) at Fine Rocket Propulsion Center, Technion, Israel
Theoretical calculation of Rocket and Ramjet propulsion performance.
Obtained overall knowledge on rocket and ramjet propulsion. Developed a code for analysis of combustion efficiency, for complex fuel optimization with metal addition. Integration of NASA-CEA and ProPEP calculations in Matlab, through custom-coded data parsing tools.
Mar - Jul 2014 Internship (5 months) – GRANTE, UFSC-EMC
Aerodynamic analysis and optimization of large wind turbines
Independent research and development of a computational tool for turbine design. Through the integration of XFoil in MATLAB, along with blade element momentum theory, I wrote a code for aerodynamic design, while retrieving detailed load distribution for structural analysis and iterative aeroelastic optimisation. Applied on the study of a 20MW wind turbine. Grade: 9/10
