    - Setting up environments comprising several virtual machines (develop, test, integration and operation environments) on local and remote sites across different ESA sites (Spain, Germany, Italy)

    DRAMA2 Debris Risk and Mitigation Analysis version 2 for European Space Agency

    - Analysing business requirements and translate them into functional requirements

    - Presenting of several different algorithms for the same functionality

    - Implementing the technical solution with two software artefacts: one standalone headless application that used OpenGL to determine cross section with z-buffer algorithm; a Java Swing panel integrated on the DRAMA tool with an OpenGL helper application for the visualisation of the construction of complex bodies.

    - Designing and implementation of the algorithms responsible for: computation of the cross section using the OpenGL z-buffer; visualisation of the construction of complex bodies.

    Besides receiving the honour of being presented on a poster, this work was presented to the scientific community on the 6th European Conference on Space Debris at ESA's Space Operations Centre (ESOC) in Darmstadt, Germany, from 22 to 25 April, 2013.

     

    SSA NEO Segment Services for European Space Agency

    This project consisted on several contracts that aimed to the development of an Information System for gathering and managing near-earth objects (asteroids) data - observation and tracking data coming from a large number of European and international sources.

     

    For the SNIII contact, as Project Engineer responsible for:

    - Analysing business requirements and translate them into functional requirements

    - Implementing of the technical solution on a Liferay portal installed on a Glassfish application engine

    - Implementing of several Liferay portlets, which communicated with several web services (REST and SOAP) that gathered data from different non-relational and relational databases

    - The design and implementation of the algorithms responsible for: orbit propagation; numeric propagators for orbit interpolation and extrapolation

    - Implementing of an orbit visualisation component that allowed 3D visualisation of NEO orbits using HTML and JavaScript for the frontend and J2EE and REST client for the backend
