    ORGANISATIONAL EXPERIENCE

     

    Jan ’11 - Till Date(5 years & 4 months) Tata Sky Ltd, DTH Technical New Delhi, India, working as Senior Broadcast Engineer.

    Tata Sky Ltd, is a famous direct broadcast satellite television provider in India  using MPEG-4  digital compression technology, transmitting using INSAT-4A and GSAT-10 satellite. Tata Sky is a Joint venture between the Tata Group and 21st Century Fox. It currently offers 350+ SD channels and 50 HD channels and services along with other many active services

     

    Key Performance Areas;

     

    Network Performance & System Engineering:

    Installation, commissioning, upgrade and maintenance of satellite communications equipment (Ka-band, Ku-Band, C-Band, and L-Band systems) required per provided Engineering documentation

    ·     Keeping in tune with DR centre at Chennai. Headend configuration for Encoder & MUX

    ·     Physically inspecting the Status of various equipments by visiting the Shelters (HUB) during the Shift and maintaining their log.

    Ensuring smooth operation and maintenance of the earth station to ensure 99.99% uptime

    Testing of signals for QPSK & BPSK. Signal monitoring on Spectrum analyzer. ASI Stream analyzing.

    ·         Preliminary Maintenance, Calibration of all equipments (mainly-HPA’s, Up convertors,) on their due dates according to Schedule.

    Configuration of Encoders, Modulators, Multiplexer, Up convertors, KHPA(amplifier) and Decoders for DTH transmission Setup.

    Provide technical support as needed to the Support team, Sales team and customers

    Daily working on Picture Quality Analysis, Spectrum analyzer

    ·     Trouble shooting, installation, replacement, calibration of equipments if any problem exists, in minimum time, coordination with various Satellite service providers, if any anomalies observed regarding transmission.

    Experience working with equipment sentry for monitoting, Snell, Envivo, Ericsson, Junger & Satcom etc. Project planning for future implementation

It is an Indian global telecommunications services company headquartered in New Delhi, India. It operates in 20 countries across South Asia, Africa, and the Channel Islands.

     

    RF Optimisation

    Conducting site survey for new Earth Station installation.

    Monitoring the transmit power and EB/no.

    Earth station duties RF equipment, antenna tracking, maintenance, Power management.

    Conducting ATP for all devices and RF subsystem.

    Power level configuration of satellite link. Like testing of transponder ALC and UPC.

    Carrier optimization for better signal quality receiving.

    Measuring transponder delay and configuring Equalizers.

    Testing and performance verification of all Earth Station Components

    Coordination with Regulatory authorities like ISRO for performing all required testing and approval for Earth Station Installation.

     

    Operations & Maintenance

    Ensuring smooth operations and maintenance of the Earth Station to ensure 99.997% uptime of the network to compete the SLA.

    Configuration of Encoders, Modulators, Multiplexer,LNB, routers, Up convertors, KHPA(amplifier) and Decoders for DTH transmission Setup.

    Supervision, Operation and Maintenance of all Earth Station Equipments including Antennas, HPAs, Up Converters, Equalizers, Modulators, Antenna Controllers, Redundancy Controllers, LNAs, LNBs Decoders etc.

    Transmission Optimization – monitoring daily transmission statistics, investigating cause of outages, trouble-shooting & repair, planning & technical aspects of transmission and follow-ups.

    Testing & implementation for deliver a high quality of service for the video product

    Analysis of impact due to any fault in network on customer

    Participate in a shift pattern for monitoring & troubleshooting 24x7.

    End to end resolution of Network faults which includes Hardware or Software faults, connectivity faults etc.

    Coordinate the implementation of planned network activity as per change control process.

    Implementation of network service requests as per specified process.

    Technical escalation management for network Incidents.

    Communication with internal & external customers/Carrier in order to resolve faults.
