    I joined the Royal Australian Navy in 2004 and completed my trade in Electrical/Electronic Engineering over the period of 10 years.

    I have worked on a wide range of electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment. I have a proven track record of excelling in my current field of work and have consistently met requirements in a timely manner for promotion and career progression.     Installation, inspection, repair and maintenance of maritime aids-to-navigation equipment.

     

    2014 – 2015:               Satellite Operations and Maintenance Engineer Swedish Space Corporation

     

    I was employed with the Swedish Space Corporation at the West Australian Space Centre. My Primary Roles Were Satellite Operations and Maintenance Engineer, On Site WH&S Officer and On Site First Aid Officer.

    The SSC Satellite Station is used for geostationary satellite orbit raising operations and first acquisition of launch vehicle and spacecraft telemetry, at both orbit insertion and deployment.

    Please see my experience outlined below

     

    In Depth Experience of Ground Stations Development for Telemetry tracking and command (TT&C) developed ground stations for Satellite Communications. 

    Experience of evaluation and performance testing of various ground station components such as testing and performance of Antennas, Microwave links, Antenna Servo controls, TFS systems, baseband system calibrations. 

    Antenna systems installation and site tests of Antenna RF parameters including validation and testing of RF radiation patterns, Antenna gain, G/T, cross pole isolation and other various parameters.

    Monitoring of all subsystems of ground stations ranging from antenna to baseband equipment and satellite communication equipment installed for the teleporting, geo location, in orbit test equipment and satellite radio spectrum monitoring.

    Daily reporting and event log management regarding daily activities at the ground station.

    Ongoing Analysis of ground station equipment actioning pre-emptive measures to correct different fault indicating parameters.

    Operation and maintenance of ground station computer networks.

    Maintenance of all equipment on daily, weekly, biweekly or monthly basis.

    Repair and Troubleshooting of RF and Baseband Equipment including High Power Amplifiers, block down convertors, block up Convertors, Zodiac CRT XL2 and Quantum baseband transceivers, Antenna RF feeds containing various RF bands, power meters, RF switches, calibration equipment and LNAs.  RF Link Configuration and Link Calibration

    Operation and Maintenance of Antenna Control Systems including Antenna drive units and servo motor systems.

    Antenna tracking operations including tracking of satellites using Monopulse, Step tracking, Program track, Table track and Optrack methods.

    In depth involvement of all major corrective maintenance and engineering modification and reconfiguration of all Electronics and Communication Subsystems

    Ensuring the repairing and recalibration of all station electronics test equipment.

    Troubleshooting, repair and calibration of test equipment such as, RF signal generator, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscope, signal analyzers, vector signal generators, system analyzers, network analyzers, logical analyzer and other electronics/communications devices for testing purposes.

    Programming RF test equipment like spectrum analyzers, signal analyzers, signal generators.

    Excellent understanding of ground station interfaces for serial and Ethernet networks.

    Network Management of hardware and software equipment through the Monitor and Control software and configurations of N-ports and network switches

     

    October 2013 – Aug 2014 (Temp contract) - Regional Communications Engineer

     

    I was employed as the Regional Communications Engineer for the division in government. I was responsible for new projects and their installations, repairs and longevity for all UHF, HF, and Satellite repeaters throughout an area larger than 434,000 square miles. This also included advanced RF propagation modelling for new transmitter sites and the development of such work scopes. 

     

    Jan 2013 – Oct 2013 – Solar Installation Production and Service Manager

     

    I was responsible for the management and coordinating all of the State Wide solar installations whether residential or commercial.
