Intel, UK: Graphics Software Engineer (2014 - 2015)
Implemented, tested and optimized the validation software suite for a specific Company Software Component on Android. Ported across the different Company products and Android distributions. Used programming language C++, Eclipse IDE and gdb debugger.
Integrated the new validation suite into the Company automated test cycles which monitor the quality of software releases during the whole product cycle, from pre-integration to post-product. Shell scripting and Python used for this task.

STMicroelectronics, UK: Software Design Staff Engineer (2012 - 2013)
Implemented tests, fixed bugs and reviewed documentation to gain Conditional Access certification of the latest ST chips. C programming language and shell scripts used.
Integrated Microsoft PlayReady DRM scheme into the ST Middleware. Specifically, implemented tests to evaluate performances and improved the build system of the supporting low level drivers and the coprocessor. Taken care of the versioning control via GIT and ClearCase. Managed internal deliveries.
Ported the DivX +HD stack on the ST platform. Integrated into a C++ plug-in framework and worked on bug fixes to ensure success of the Certification Steps in collaboration with the team in charge of the Certification process and with DivX itself. Discussed with architects specific security features and performance issues related to ST architectural choices. Handled the versioning control system and internal deliveries. Provided support to internal and external Customers.
STMicroelectronics, UK: Software Design Senior Engineer (2007 - 2011)
Productized a plug-in framework for the integration of Third Party DRM schemes.
Integrated the HT 3.0 DivX stack into the ST software stack; discussed changes to improve functionalities and performance. Provided support during the internal test phase and the DivX Certification Process via open source tracking system. Managed the delivery of the solution to internal and external Customers plus provided first level support.
Supervised the porting and test of PlayReady v1.5 onto the Company latest chipsets. Taken care of the integration of the work done into the C++ plug-in framework and of the versioning control system. Managed internal and external deliveries and provided first level support.
Ported the Intertrust Marlin security scheme onto the ST Chipset: the activity has required the implementation of an extension of a C++ plug-in and a reengineering of the build system. Managed internal deliveries and provided first level support.
Supervised an experimental porting of Microsoft WMDRM10-PD DRM scheme and contributed to its productization. In particular, fixed all the pending bugs and improved the plug-in mechanism through a clean-up of the C++ classes used; introduced versioning control via GIT and ensured full integration of the scheme into the ST framework; discussed with the Security Architects the requirements of a robust option and implemented that. Managed the delivery of the solution to internal and external Customers plus provided first level support.

Implemented a Third Party’s JNI on top of the ST drivers to support the JVM-based Open Cable Application Platform (OCAP) middleware.
Ported the Real Networks Video Decoder on the ST platform targeted for the mobile market.
STMicroelectronics, Italy: Senior System Engineer (2000 - 2003)
Developed a C++ audio device driver for the hardware accelerator of the ST platform for the mobile market and integrated the driver into Symbian OS.
Implemented the extension of the C-based ST driver for digital satellite reception to support the EUTELSAT DiSEqC1.2 broadcasting protocol.
Ported the Sun JVM onto the ST reference product for satellite decoders. Developed a Java-based multimedia application for demo purposes on top of the JVM. Used Sun JavaTV API for the high level management of TV programs; Sun JNI for bridging between C and Java; Sun JMF for the link between Java and the JavaTV API.
