Airbus Safran launchers is a company with a joint venture by aerospace giants like AIRBUS and SAFRAN working in Space Engines Division dedicated to defence sector in Vernon, France.
Description–The project aimed at using a Biomimicry concept, taking inspiration from nature and using it into a rocket engine part. The design were done on CATIA software, and all the fabrication was done using Selective laser melting (Additive manufacturing). The concept formulation, design, mechanical simulations, fabrication, mechanical behaviour test. Representing Safran and presenting research at International Biomimicry Exposition held in Paris, France.

Topic: Water Droplet Erosion Resistant Materials for Wet Compression Program of gas turbine engines
Early Identification Program, EID Scholar– My job was to solve the materials related issues (erosion, corrosion and fatigue) occuring because of wet compression technique used to increase the efficiency of gas turbines. My work on GE proprietary coatings showed 4-5x improved erosion properties and made it a front runner as a potential solution for a US PATENT. This coating is a possible candidate for Patent and is in design review because no such coatings simultaneous provides good results in erosion, corrosion and fatigue.

Recently, a new geometry has been developed that allows for stable crack propagation under constant load, i.e., keeping the load fixed, the crack driving force actually drops as it propagates.To validate that as driving force decreases the geometry can essentially be used to determine fracture toughness of all material classes.
