    JOB APPLIED FOR

    Junior Engineer

    EDUCATION AND TRAINING

    May 2016–Nov 2016

Master's Thesis "XIPE satellite's Performance study through System, Thermal and Thermoelastic analyses with the application of Concurrent Engineering Tools"

Thales Alenia Space Italia, Turin (Italy)

This master thesis was aimed to apply concurrent engineering methodology to the XIPE's mission study in the Thales Alenia Space facility of Turin, both for the system analysis and for the thermoelastic-related performance requirements verification.

The first part of the thesis focused on studying and handling the XIPE's mission data through the usage of IDM-CIC, a concurrent engineering tool adopted by the company. Making use of this software led to understand its pros and cons and thus to improve its usage. Starting from the thermal and structural information handled by IDM-CIC, the latter part of the thesis work was to concurrently verify the thermal and the performance requirements imposed by the top costumer ESA through working loops of thermal, thermoelastic, and performance analyses. The tools adopted within the company, such as ESATAN and TEMASE, have not been the only two used, in fact a new ad-hoc tool has been developed in order to make more fluid the analysis loop and to allow a better interaction among these software: "TemaseGUI". The proper functioning of the program has been tested and validated through the crosscheck with two other company-internal existing thermoelastic procedures.

    Mar 2014–Nov 2016

    Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering

    EQF level 6

    Politecnico di Torino, Torino (Italy)

    _ Grade: 101/110

_ Specialization in Aeromechanics and Systems with elective courses "Helicopter Flight Mechanics" and "Mission Project and Space Systems".

    Oct 2010–Mar 2014

    Bachelor Degree in Aerospace Engineering

    EQF level 5

    Università di Bologna, Forlì (Italy)

    _ Grade: 93/110

_ Dissertation title: "Study and optimization of high lift devices for the airplane V-173"

The work focused on the study of high lift devises (flaps, vortex generators, slots) for a circular aircraft, the Vogue V-173. In particular, using the SolidWorks' Flow Simulation package, several aerodynamic simulations have been performed in order to get the lift and drag curves and then mathematically demonstrate that this airplane has optimum STOL performances. Nowadays, this historical airplane could be repurposed as a STOL UAV.
