    The aim of the project was to install Cisco networking equipment to replace the corporate/unclassified access layer (end user-facing) switches in the Airbus Defence and Space Stevenage and Portsmouth sites and to dispose or trade in the old equipment after secure de-configuration.

    Ensure that all new switches are built and configured as per the “Gold” build and including any switch specific exceptions, changes etc

    Seek sign off of PTH switches as necessary from Airbus

    Ensuring NOC and Airbus  are notified of switch replacements prior to deployment to ensure NOC and technical support is available to support PTH deployment team

    Notify NOC once switch replacements are complete to ensure Spectrum and all monitoring tools are updated as necessary

    Immediate escalation of any issues identified during deployment to RM to allow continue/roll back decision to be taken in a timely manner and communications to be made to A-D&S

    Any changes to the PTH deployment schedule requested by A-D&S to be notified to RM to allow Change Control process to be implemented and impact assessed

    Status reporting to RM on a weekly basis on the deployment progress against the schedule (RM to issue reporting template)

    Attend all internal meetings to ensure all internal agreements are communicated to the deployment teams

     

    Produced the following:-

    Site audit of existing LAN, including producing cabinet audit to support hardware refresh.

    Sizing exercise vs Bill of Materials (BOM)

    End to End Delivery Process document.

    Liased with customer and NOC team to design and create Cisco 3850 switch templates to provide all common configuration data.

    Configuration Templates created and a number of switches were identified for a Pilot location.

    All switches were Pre-staged onsite at both Stevenage and Portsmouth with individual configuration data added to each respective switch.

    Installation and configuration of Several Cisco 4510 access switches into a new purpose built building.
