    Summary

Project Manager with over two decades of experience working with technical teams. Skilled in unifying groups of people toward achieving challenging technical goals, setting clear priorities, empowering team members, planning with limited schedule and resources, tracking progress and accountability, and clear and upfront communication with stakeholders. This Lead Comm Engineer role for both missions involved gathering requirements, designing subsystem architectures, planning and executing tests, assigning resources, and maintaining communication with stakeholders.

Identified and articulated a systemic problem with the Center’s process for capturing proposal funding, and envisioned a new approach.  In a politically complex environment, obtained stakeholder support to develop and document this new approach.

Led a multi-disciplinary engineering team to design the new proposal capture strategy, focused on early maturation of space-related mission concepts well in advance of proposal calls from NASA. This new approach was a radical departure from the status quo, and empowered the Mission Design Center to increase the quality of its product and its effectiveness.
