MIMAC (MIcro-TPC MAtrix of Chambers) is a low-pressure directional detector which can offer simultaneous measurements of the energy and angle information of the detected recoil track allowing detection of nuclear recoils at energies down to a few keV. MIMAC is a collaboration project between THCA (Beijing) and LPSC (Grenoble).
I performed data analysis, simulation and instrumentation work on the directional dark matter gas particle detector MIMAC. More specifically, I developed algorithms for electron rejection from the event sample, derived the angular resolution of the detector, performed head/tail low kinetic energy nuclear recoil track analysis,
participated in the prototype detector operation at LPSC (Grenoble) and commissioning at IHEP (Beijing).

Research Assistant at APC (AstroParticule et Cosmologie) as part of the Engineering Master at Université Denis Diderot (Paris VII) - Paris (France)
Using a VNA device and a cryogenic system I performed the characterization of the first and second generation of polarization sensitive kinetic inductance detectors (KIDs) operating at a temperature of 300 mK.
To test their optical response I designed a photometric system using Zemax and performed quasi-optical analysis (with Python). I also designed the external support system with CATIA and proposed the Earth’s magnetic field (which generates Cooper pairs) cancelling system (based on Helmholtz coils).

Research Assistant on the space atomic clock PHARAO (ESA - ACES mission) as part of PhD at Université Pierre et Marie Curie at Centre National d'Études Spatiales (CNES) - Paris/Toulouse (France)
Performed first PHARAO Flight Model operation experiments and analysis.
Developed a new magnetic hysteresis prediction model based on the performed magnetic measurements. Designed, performed simulations, implemented and experimentally verified an active magnetic compensation system (400% improved performance over the previous system) based on that model. Evaluated and
optimized the PHARAO atomic clock flight and engineering model subsystems.
Determined accuracy (evaluated effects such as second order Zeeman, black body and cold collision) and stability (detection system noise, detection laser noise…) of the clock. Performed Monte Carlo simulations of the atomic cloud thermal evolution (using LabWindows). Performed thermal experiments on the PHARAO flight model using a VNA to verify the thermal regulation system.

Project based on the study of the FIR/Radio correlation in the NVSS-FIRST-SDSS and NVSS-FIRST-SDSS-IRAS samples of galaxies. Observation experience at the CARMA telescope facility.
Internship/Summer school at CERN - Geneva (Switzerland)
Harvard University ATRAP (anti-hydrogen trap) project. Worked on various small engineering projects such as supplying helium to the ATRAP device and making ground loop detectors.
Attended CERN Particle physics Summer School with a fellowship of the Croatian Ministry of science, education and sports.
