    Full assembly of Rotaflex (3000 + components) evaluated for counterweight load movements, piling locations, wind loads @ 100 mph.

    The threaded connections are evaluated using mesh sensitivity analysis for fine threads in large assemblies using axisymmetric models. Keys, locks are evaluated for contact, friction, penetration and high plasticity. Bolt preload is studied for bolted.

    Seals, Gaskets studied using HBNR hyper elastic materials for leakage possibility.

    Field failures were evaluated by conducting FEA and considering various aspects like materials, loads, temperature and actual assembly conditions on field.

    Emerson Innovation Centre, Pune (Jun’11 to Jan’13)

    Compressor components Scrolls, Head, Shaft, Bearings, Alignment housing.

    Management: Management of R&D projects for the group including reviews and reports. Project allocation and internal review for Team size 3.

    Design: Certified training on Scroll Compressor design and its components functioning.


    Fatigue evaluation using FE Safe software for shaft, bearing, housing, scrolls, keys with supporting hand calculations on sample nodes provided at critical locations. Goodman diagrams customised to Emerson components used for seals, flaps, valves.

    Mesh sensitivity and stress linearization performed for highly strained parts. Best practices were developed to streamline procedures for similar components.
