    Digital Systems engineer with a demonstrated history of working in research and academic institutes. Prime experience in simulating and implementing signal processing algorithms on FPGA, particularly for radio astronomy instrumentation.

    Project Goal: Development of narrow-band multi-beam beamformer for Focal Plane Array

    • Developed optimized architecture for multi-element, multi-beam beamformer us- ing FPGA re-configurability. Designed a 32-input, 5-beam, 1024 spectral channel beamformer on a single Virtex-5 FPGA. • Implemented a narrow-band beamformer and correlator on ROACH-1 (Virtex-5 FPGA) platform. Xilinx System Generator ® tool used for design implementation.

    • Beamformer functionality i.e electronic beamsteering using phased array tech- niques tested in free space test range. Involved system level simulation using MATLAB, analysis of RF and base-band processing system and ADC characteri- zation. • Implemented and tested optimal beamforming algorithm with an L-band Focal Plane Array in aperture array mode to achieve optimum SNR.

    • Basic experiments on null-steering and multi-beamforming

    • Currently working on wideband beamformer implementation on Xilinx RF System on Chip (RFSoC)

    • Design tested with L-band analog receiver chain. Testing involved L-band analog chain characterization and real time sky signal testing
