In my 10+ years of experience I worked in different area of application in the naval, aviation, and aerospace industry gaining both management and technical competences.
In the last 4+ years I have been working within the framework of the Galileo GNSS programme, at the beginning in the Security team and currently as a RAMS Safety of Life engineer.
Previously, I was Project Engineer at IDS having the responsibility both for the technical and management aspects of several Radar Cross Section (RCS) design regarding naval and avionic platform. I’ve been also involved in EMC design, and measurement campaigns aimed at verifying the requirements and at confirming the simulation results. Last but not least, I’ve been also working for the product assurance department in the frame of radar and unmanned dependability and safety requirements verification.

Work Experience

RINA consulting B.V. (c/o ESTEC the Netherlands) - RAMS Engineer for SoL based in ESTEC
As a RAMS Safety of Life engineer, I'm involved in the engineering group characterization of the GALILEO GNSS Open Service in Safety of Life applications, pursuing as the final objective, the safe use of GALILEO by the aviation stakeholders for navigation.
The main tasks faced in this role are:
Monitoring and controlling all the RAMS aspects during the characterization and the determination of the GALILEO integrity parameters during the IFMEA process, establishing the magnitude of the impact of the service end users.
Book captain of the “Feared Events Characterization Sheet Report”, collecting the results of the IFMEA process, with related probability of occurrence, the assessment of the causes, which triggered the anomalies and their effects, the proper methods for their detection, and mitigation of such events in compliance with the EGNOS V3 needs, and ARAIM.
Planning and scheduling of RAMS activities in the frame of Safe of Life Service in order to comply with resources constraints and reporting of tasks progress at periodic boards.
Chairman of the “FECS Board”, coordinating interactions between European Commission, ESA, EUSPA, EGNOS, and Industry representatives in order to assess correctness of the established FECS characterization, reviewing root-cause analysis of the detected feared events, and identifying recommendations on improvements for fault mitigation.

As Security accreditation engineer, the main tasks faced are:
Risk Analysis support: preparation of formal document confirming that the system can process, store and forward sensitive or classified information.
Accreditation dossier build: support to prepare all documents relevant to the Security.
Planning and scheduling of Accreditation activities in order to fulfill the timeline process requirements and taking into accounts all constraints coming from several actors involved in the process.
Validation/Verification process: preparation of several documents such as Verification Control Document and Requirement Verification Matrix in order to certificate that all requirements are verified in term of compliance and/or coverage.
Definition and maintenance of ad-hoc procedures supporting the Accreditation process and involving several entities.
Accreditation Data package review such as Security Plan andor procedures in order to fulfill requirements.
Flow-up and flow-down of requirements from mission to element and vice-versa.

As Project Engineer, the main work fields developed in IDS are relevant to Project Management and System Project Design.
The main tasks carried out successfully as Project Manager are:
scheduling: preparation of GANTT for different project;
budget planning: forecasting and defining cost/benefit for several project;
project review meeting: support to program management aspects by interfacing internal team
and all the involved stakeholders;
customer relation care: interface with foreign customers by email/phone/meeting in order to solve
any technical and management issue;
technical proposal: support to preparation of technical documents relevant to procurement calls;
tender documents support: contribution to tender proposal regarding the planning/schedule constraints and participation of the sub-furniture evaluation process;
Regarding the System project design field, the main tasks faced are:
user requirement and technical specification definition: preparation of documents relevant to
technical documentation such as user manual, Design document and Interface documents (ICD/IRD).
Product Assurance: preparation of documents relevant to PA aspects and their verification, radar and unmanned dependability and safety requirements verification;
TestTrial procedure: preparation of sets of documents such as Test Plan, Test Cases and Test procedure in order to successfully managed and carried out all the test phases;
technical management for Radar signature design on several ship and avionic platform with strong requirement achieved and verified through trial session carried on by independent authority;
tutoring and stakeholder management on electromagnetic design using simulation tools based on specific customer’s needs.
