System used to prevent and detect incipient forest fires through a network of remote devices (UPRv4). The device is composed of a IR, NIR sensor sub system, a camera, an electric motion control, an anemometer and a PC104 where hangs the whole system intelligence.

Main task. Design and develope control suite for UPRv4. Analysis, design and developement of serial communication protocols between the PC104 and on-board subsystems. Embedded firmware and administration bash scripts. Digital signal processing of IR, NIR data. Analysis, design and develope of protocol adapter for UPRv3 device. Analysis, design and team leading in developing UPRv4 mantainance tools.

System for tracking and video surveillance of mobile vehicles for merchandise and/or passengers transport. The infrastructure uses GIS, GPS and GPRS technologies and is composed by following subsystems: mobile device installed on vehicles, video surveillance module, high-level protocol for communication between mobile devices and central server, system for mobiles GPS positions storage and management, web GIS application for visualization of monitored vehicles on a map.

Main task.

  • Re-engineering of mobile tracking software and porting on Linux embedded system ColumBus (made by CIEMME Sistemi s.p.a.)
  • Development of video surveillance module and integration of video surveillance library made by Nexotech s.r.l.
  • Development of an application for video/images extraction from buffer video registered on ColumBus devices
  • Porting of mobile tracking software on Linux embedded system AVL-Light (made by Eurotech s.p.a.)
  • Analysis and development of software modules to support tracking application (TCP/IP connectivity on GSM/GPRS, parser NMEA string for GPS data extraction) and modules for system administration (init script, applications start and monitoring, events scheduling, controlled hardware shutdown) on AVL-Light
