Engineer: Double degree at Université Technologique de Compiègne (UTC) and Cranfield University

Date of birth: 12 January 1988    French citizen

Education

October 2010 to September 2011: Master in Advanced Materials, Cranfield University, UK

Main subjects: Materials engineering, properties and processing of metals, engineering polymers and polymers for composite, failure of materials and structures, composite performances, finite element analysis and materials modelling (Nastran, Patran, Marc Mentat), materials selection, surface science.

Group project (3 months): Development of a 3D Modelling Methodology for the Grinding of Hybrid Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) /Titanium Laminates (project sponsored by theInnovative Manufacturing Research Centre of Cranfield university)

To predict the behaviour of composite materials, the samples have been manufactured using prepreg, which have been ground and a model (in 2D and 3D) has been produced using Nastran, Patran and Marc Mentat in order to predict the behaviour of the composite. This predicted behaviour was validated by observing the sample produced using the SEM. Group meetings were arranged once a week.

Thesis (4 months): On-line monitoring of the stress/strain fields in tufting needles with optical fibre sensors (FBG sensors) (project sponsored by the Advanced Integrated Tail Cone (ADVITAC) Project from the European Framework 7)

Recorded data using optical fibre sensors, a high speed camera and a load cell on a tufting machine. The raw data was post process using Labview, Matlab, and several algorithms wrote in C++ and in Java, then analysed mainly using Matlab. Meetings with the IT were needed to have access to the super computer of the university and some were organized with my supervisors. Conclusion of project was successful, resulting in a publication to be submitted in the smart materials and structure journal.

September 2006 to September 2011: Master in Mechanical Engineering, Université Technologique de Compiègne (U.T.C.), France

Major: Mechanical engineering option Materials and Technological Innovation (main subjects: materials and science engineering, mechanics of structures, metallic materials, acoustic, vibration mechanics, polymers, method and programs to solve engineering problems (Ansys, Scylab), finite element analysis (Nastran, Patran, Marc Mentat), computer aid design (Autodesk Inventor, Catia), quality management.

Minor: F.I.R.M.E. (Training in International Relation and Innovation in Firms) (main subjects: innovation and numeric economics, communication and international organisation)

Projects: in economics, computer aid design, marketing, quality, polymers
