ACADEMIC PROJECTS

·      M.Tech Dissertation:

Title: Closed Loop Guidance and Control for Interplanetary Orbital Transfer

Duration: September 2010 - present

 

Description: Currently in progress.

Undergoing at ISRO Satellite Centre (Indian Space Research Organisation), Bangalore, India. This project includes the various fields of Astronautics, mainly the Interplanetary Orbital Transfer and also the Guidance and Control for the Spacecraft mission design. With the help of the data output from the navigation system, the spacecraft is guided and controlled and thus the maneuvered orbital transfer from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to Low Mars Orbit (LMO) is achieved. The trajectory transfer problem is simulated in MATLAB and thus the guidance for the interplanetary orbital transfer from LEO to LMO is achieved.

 

 

·      M.Tech 2nd Semester Project:

Title: Design and Construction of Manually Controlled Robotic Arm

Duration: December 2009 – May 2010

 

Description: Developed a real time working model of the manually controlled robotic arm, in which the end effector is a gripper which can pick and drop objects. The movement of the gripper in the various degrees of freedom is achieved with the help of manually controlled electric DC geared motors which are mechanically attached to its joints.

 

 

·      B.Tech Final Semester Project:

Title: Prepaid Energymeter

Duration: December 2008 – May 2009

 

Description: Developed a Prepaid Energymeter which works on the smart card mechanism. This energymeter works on the basis of the code inbuilt according to the prepaid amount in the smart card. Successfully presented in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department Exhibition at Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri, Kerala, India.

 

·      B.Tech 3rd Semester Project:

Title: Electrical Door Lock System

Duration:June 2006 – November 2006

 

Description:Developed an Electrical Door Lock System which works during the feeding of the correct code to the number pad/box which is given as the input source to the system. Personal contribution was the designing and construction of the main structural frame and the sliding door system. Successfully presented in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department Exhibition at Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri, Kerala, India.

 

·      B.Tech 5th Semester Project:

Title: Study of the Rocket Propulsion and its Stability

Duration: May 2007 – November 2007

                                                      

Description:Did a detailed study on the propulsion mechanism of the rocket and the factors affecting its stability during the initial stages of the propulsion while following its maneuvered flight through the different layers of the earth’s atmosphere.

·       “Trajectory Planning and Perturbation Analysis for Interplanetary Orbital Transfer

- presented in the ISRO sponsored National Symposium on Astronomy and Space Engineering 2011 (NSASE-2011), at Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, India. Also, this paper won The Best Paper Award for the symposium.

·      Space Shuttle – An Overview: Presented a seminar on the technology behind the space shuttle mission and its structural characteristics.
