Supported Shuttle real-time operations activities at the Spacecraft Analysis console, serving as a liaison between the Flight Control Team and systems experts, coordinating real-time analyses of Shuttle systems issues. Prepared presentation charts for Mission Management Team meetings. Provide mission shift status reports to Division Chiefs and Space Shuttle Program Management
Apply various management tools (Lean Six Sigma, Continual Process Improvement) to improve flight production process and realize time/cost savings

Served as department point of contact for entry contingency abort issues. Supported Shuttle Program meetings and panels with expert input regarding contingency abort related issues. Supported Contingency Abort Improvements effort with multiple analyses including: Canadian Transoceanic Abort Landing (TAL), Increased Yaw Steering, Abort Performance Enhancements
Drafted Shuttle flight software change providing for increased protection of the vertical tail assembly against entry thermal heating during contingency aborts. Developed a modified angle of attack schedule to balance ranging capability versus vertical tail heating. Performed validation of logic in off-line simulations and provided briefing on changes to Program panels.
Provided algorithm development and software validation support for the Shuttle Abort Flight Manager portion of the Cockpit Avionics Upgrade. Provided display validation support for ascent & entry abort displays. Drafted performance test plans and validation documents. Presented final performance analysis results to Program management.
Developed Shuttle flight-specific contingency abort analysis process, indentifying flights which would have increased contingency abort black zone exposure. Designed analysis software tool which reduced the analysis time needed from 2 weeks to 4 days. Presented briefings on increased black zone exposure to Space Shuttle Program management.
Developed and validated new crew piloting techniques for stuck throttle aborts and Return-To-Launch Site contingency aborts, providing for increased safety and improved contingency landing capability
Generated abort performance boundaries and produced abort analyses which provided for increased contingency abort landing capabilities.
Supported Shuttle real-time operations as a Multipurpose Support Room Landing Analyst, generating performance data for use in Shuttle landing performance analyses.
