Senior Electrical Engineer – Associate

  • Senior member of Lexington Modeling & Simulation team, implemented to support M&S needs of Hanscom AFB.

  • Conducted analytical studies of radar performance and aircraft survivability, primarily using the Enhanced Surface-to-Air Missile Simulation (ESAMS) tool. Customized analysis tools to meet the needs of the government customer, and making those improved tools and methodologies available to the customer for future utilization.

  • Developed additional sensor models and capabilities for inclusion in the official government releases of the ESAMS, including the enhanced fidelity model of the AN/TPS-75 radar in support of an Air Force AoA. In addition to modeling currently operational sensors, also worked to model proposed and theoretical sensors or sensor improvements.

  • Supported marketing efforts to capture new business for Decision Analytics business group in a new geographic market, as well as applications of existing tools to previously unexplored avenues such as the effects of wind farm development on existing strategic radar installations.

BAE Systems October 2008 – February 2010

Lead Systems Engineer

  • On contract to MIT Lincoln Laboratory, primarily conducted flight test analysis for the Missile Defense Elements Group (36) within the Air and Missile Defense Technology Division (3). Flight Tests participated in included Caravan 2, FTG-05 FTX-04, FTT-10, Stellar Avenger, Stellar Cerberus, and Stellar Raicho.

  • Conducted post mission sensor interoperability and communications analysis as part of DAG/NABIT of numerous flight test involving AEGIS BMD capabilities, including test of new system builds and integration with allied systems.

  • Also assisted with the ST&E squad’s work on missions determining data products necessary to conduct pre and post mission analysis based on changing flight test design and participants as well as new mission specific objectives.

  • Participated in the Discrimination Working Group, meeting regularly to discuss developments in the tools and methodology currently being employed to improve our discrimination analysis and simulation across MIT/LL Groups.

  • Conducted preliminary analysis of flight test design & sensor location based on test requirements & sensor capabilities.

Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems August 2006 – June 2008

Systems Engineer

  • Prepared and delivered multiday presentations addressing progress of discrimination database development process for Technical Integration Meetings and Working Group Meetings with contributors from across the discrimination community.

  • Worked as part of a team to develop a robust and adaptable discrimination database with an established process for the inclusion of new threats with minimal turnaround time. Involved modification and customization of clustering algorithms, assessment of feature sets and clusters for optimization, and performance analysis of end-to-end scenario simulation using standard MATLAB tools as well as proprietary simulation and analysis programs.

  • A member of the CONOPS Integration testing for the SBX missile defense radar, simulating and analyzing scenarios with a wide range of conditions, including interceptor and kill assessment tasks, using in-house MATLAB tools.

  • Supported flight test events in the field on SBX, providing pre-mission MATLAB analysis as well as conducting on sight analysis for the 24 hour report immediately following the flight test.

  • Further supported development & deployment of the SBX as part of the Ground-based Mid-course Defense System.
