Led Canadian-based company’s marketing communications, including: global branding and messaging; integrated strategic plans and budget development; advertising; sales tool development; international trade shows and events program; production of print and on-line collateral; web-site development; and webinar production. 

  • Delivered over 20 high-impact trade shows per year, globally.
    • Saved the company over $50,000 per year in shipping and storage fees by changing vendor and booth strategies.
  • Drove company’s largest ever global advertising campaign (covering markets such as Europe, China, the Middle East, and Brazil) resulting in doubled sales for the month over the previous reporting year and tripled requests for press interviews and speaking opportunities.
  • Developed a new CD-based sales tool for use at trade shows.  Listed as the top sales tool by the international sales team; eventually produced in 6 languages.

  • Implemented and delivered four-tiered perception study for a key division of Boeing Launch Services.  Analysis and recommendations for marketing were followed by three new launch contracts within a year.

Verestar Inc., Fairfax, VA                            1999-2001

Director of Marketing

Created, staffed and budgeted company’s first marketing department.  Led the company’s communications, press and analyst outreach.   

  • Re-named and re-branded the company to support international expansion.  Project required coordinating over 30 offices worldwide and was completed $60,000 under budget, in less than six months.  This effort included:
    • Creating a new name and logo for the company
    • Writing and development of benefits-based messaging platform
    • Writing and development of company’s new web site
  • Writing and development of all new corporate and sales collateral (print and electronic) materials
  • Developing and running advertising to introduce the new brand
  • Created an international team (one person in each local office) to manage the launch and incorporation of the new brand at all the regional offices, including everything from distribution of new letterhead templates to office signage, invoice and customer forms, etc.
