RESIDENT SYSTEM ENGINEER
|
|
Directly reporting to the Space Segment manager, the Spacecraft Lead Engineer, the Ground Segment Program Manager
|
|
in the frame of the LYBID program, MDA, as prime contractor, delivers to its Ukrainian customer a validated space system. The manufacturing of the Spacecraft was subcontracted to the largest Russian manufacturer of telecommunication satellites : JSC ISS “Reshetnev”.
|
MAIN TASKS
|
-
Form a close working relationship with the Russian satellite Manufacturer to follow up execution of the contract (performance, reviews, milestones delivery, schedule, anomalies, actions items)
-
Maintain regular reporting and coordination lines with the Program managers and technical teams to ensure coherence of satellite and system activities from the design phase up to the satellite acceptance
-
Ensure that major action items are tracked, answered, reviewed and closed.
-
undertake development, fabrication, qualification, and supporting in-orbit commissioning of the spacecraft.
-
support payload and ground segment system engineers to define mission requirements, concepts and interface definition
-
control of the interfaces between the systems
-
ensure that the spacecraft solution meets all technical requirements
-
review of spacecraft and its subsystem and units design, test, and verification documentation
-
analyse design review packages and actively participating in design review meetings, identifying areas of non-compliance, potential risk, and recommend appropriate actions to take.
-
Provide technical support to the launcher interface definition;
-
Provide technical support to the satellite requirements and performance;
-
as Lead bus engineer , monitor the progress and implementation of the bus industrial activities design, manufacturing, and integration including subsystems and unit level.

Ensure oversight support of the spacecraft construction, integration and test phase at the Manufacturer's facility.

Lead or assist in troubleshooting problems and anomalies with the design and/or test of units or subsystems, and evaluate the recommended corrective actions proposed by the satellite manufacturer
-
Assess the Manufacturer's design, manufacturing processes, and quality practices and provide recommendations to result in the delivery of a more reliable spacecraft.

Practical satellite industry experience in communications satellite and satellite bus

Extensive experience in Russian engineering practices;

Good working knowledge of spacecraft subsystems, bus subsystems in particular

Experience in unit and subsystem and SC level budgets, analysis and specifications

Experience with test requirements and evaluation of test results for units, subsystems and SC.

End to end experience of the Spacecraft life profile : design, manufacturing, integration, testing, launch and In orbit Testing

MAIN TASKS
|

Verify the consistency of the definition, production & control logic according to contracts and product assurance plans (NCR, CP, RFD)

Ensuring the maintainance of the documentation (definition, justification files user’s manual)

Monitoring progress and implementation of industrial activities (manufacturing, AIT) and milestone deliveries,providing regular progress report, managing anomalies& actions lists

Lead or assist in troubleshooting problems and anomalies with the design and/or test of units or subsystems, and evaluate the recommended corrective actions proposed by the manufacturer.

Ensure that in-flight/ production experience is taken into account for the preparation of the recurrent vehicles;
