Experience in ground segment system engineering, project management support and operations in the field of Earth Observation:

  • Coordination amongst the different PDGS players by acting as interface amongst several PDGS sub-system developers and towards the PDGS responsible persons.
  • Support to project risk analysis, project implementation plan editing and definition of the various milestones.
  • System Requirements Definition of the various facilities including Mission Documentation review; understanding of Mission requirements and translation of those to Ground Segment Requirements.
  • Architectural design; allocation of requirements to the various subsystems; definition of their specific configurations and trade-off analysis. Definition of PDGS external interfaces.
  • Preparation of Statements of Work and supporting Technical Documentation for upcoming ITT and CCNs; review of technical proposals from external contractors; review of Project Technical documentation during the various milestones of the development contracts in line with the ECSS standards; supervision of industrial teams during the development phase while taking care of the configuration control and system non-conformances tracking.
  • System integration; validation and verification tests.
  • Ground Segment Overall Validation organization and execution
  • Ground Segment transfer to operations and Commissioning phase: Management of SMOS-LTA system transfer to operations and second line support to operations; Participation in Swarm PDGS Commissioning Phase preparation and execution.
  • Operational data product quality control, sensor and mission performance monitoring:

o    Interaction with the Scientific Community, payload experts and Ground Segment operations teams.

o    Identification and implementation of work-around to ensure continuation of operations

o    Knowledge of Earth Observation payload hardware and measuring philosophy; familiarity with the algorithms used for on-ground and on-board processing.

 

 

Computer skills and competences

   Proficiency in MS Office tools and IDL programming.

Basic knowledge of UNIX/LINUX scripting.
