- I have always enjoyed systems engineering at spacecraft prime contract level (sometimes called systems architect) using advanced technology, tools & methods. I have come to realise that the attraction for me of working at this ‘user’ level is the analysis of user needs and reconciling these needs (with full traceability) to an appropriate technology in an effective manner.

- It was during my time in the UK Aircraft Carrier project that I learnt the benefits of using Architecture Frameworks (AFs) and the use that they can be put in the management of ‘capability’, how they can be used to obtain ‘bangs for bucks’, how they can be used to define the man machine interface and what a powerful tool they are in technology management (future and legacy).

- Since 2006 I have only occasionally been involved with user requirements with most of my time being applied to project management of high technical risk projects, most of which involve sub-contractors.
