Manage Mission Planning for routine and special operations for the LEO Missions (EPS, Copernicus Sentinel-3):

Performing routine, on-call, contingency and special operations (e.g. Launch simulations, SIOV Rehearsals) using the mission planning facility;

Performing preventative maintenance of the mission planning software mainly by running system checks to spot any system anomaly or error and raising necessary reports;

Maintaining mission planning documentation such as the user guide, operational implementation document, joint operations document, ICDs, etc. .


Mission Planning life-cycle:

Raising anomaly reports when necessary and monitoring their resolution through attendance at appropriate review boards. Supplying context and analysis that may aid the investigation of anomalies;

Contributing to the definition of any changes;

Contributing to the operational validation of new versions of the mission planning software, including testing of AR/NCR correction, new functionality and non-regression also with attendance to FAT or OSAT;

Updating and rolling out of new versions of the mission planning operational Implementation.


Interaction with other EUMETSAT operations teams and external partners:

Cooperation with other operations teams in order to accomplish specific operational tasks (Emergency satellite collision avoidance manoeuvre, special instrument calibrations, system tests for satellite launch, Back Up Control Centre routine and emergency activation)

Liaising with NOAA and NASA in order to fulfil joint operations requirements and maintaining relative documentation.


Support to Jason-CS and/or EPS-SG:

Supporting the ground segment team in the development and procurement of the mission planning application software and any related tools;

Participating in reviews concerning the mission planning system, interfacing facilities and associated tools, throughout the procurement life-cycle;

Analysing and reviewing relevant documentation, preparing technical documents and attending technical meetings.
