Masters Thesis

Title: Attitude determination and control of Micro-satellite RISESAT for satellite-to ground optical communications

Supervisors: Professor Kazuya Yoshida & Associate Professor Toshinori Kuwahara

Description: The thesis starts from a research period in Space Robotics Lab. of Tohoku University in Sendai. It explored the possibility to write a software model for Earth sensor and High precision telescope that will be on board of next Tohoku University micro satellite RISESAT that is expected to be launched in 2017. The sensors models are needed in order to experimentally try on the ground simulator present in the same University the attitude determination and control of the satellite before it is launched. Furthermore a control law for laser communication tests, for the same mission, using the previously mentioned sensors was designed.
