Personal profile

I am 26-year-old with a strong passion for space engineering, propulsion and mission analysis. I recently obtained my Master’s degree in Space engineering, at the University of Pisa, after a collaboration with SITAEL S.p.A. I would describe myself as a reliable, hardworking, self-motivated and eager to learn person. Moreover, my university career, and my enrolment in the local rugby team, taught me the importance of teamwork for which I feel comfortable also in a multicultural environment.

 

Master thesis: Mission analysis of a ram-EP based platform

Period: 04/2020-02/2021

Description

I joined the mission analysis of a platform based on the ram-EP propulsion system, under current development at SITAEL, in the frame of the AETHER project. The project focused on the identification and scaling of a set of feasible scientific instruments to be hosted on the platform, the latter operating in a Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) scenario, and the design of the communication subsystem through numerical optimization.

Relevant projects

1) Pre-phase A of a space mission: Trade-off of the different strategies and choice of the best possible solution. Design and sizing of the spacecraft and its subsystems. International team composed by eight people.

2) Structural analysis of a component subjected to loads due to the typical launch environment (SpaceX Dragon capsule): likely design on Solidworks and structural analysis using Ansys Workbench and environmental data available from Falcon-9 User Manual.

Perdiod 2014–2018 Bachelor Degree in Aerospace Engineering, University of Pisa.
