  Professional Research Work:

2015 - 2017 Project scientist ESA-GSTP: 3D printing of a model building block for a lunar base outer shell.
This ESA project aimed to characterise existing lunar simulants and select the most appropriate one for carrying out a solar sintering process. A second part focused on developing a solar 3D printing process at DLR solar oven.
Work description:
- Lunar simulants characterisation including XRD, SEM, EDX, EBSD and DSC on as-received simulants and sintered samples.
- Sintering of lunar regolith simulants in a traditional oven in air and in vacuum.
- Development from A to Z of a solar 3D printer that can be included in DLR solar oven. This task includes the computer design of the parts, the setup assembly and the programming.
- Several solar sintering campaigns at the DLR solar oven facility in Cologne.
- Writing reports and presentation of milestones to ESA technical officer.

2016 - present DLR Project scientist H2020: RegoLight
This EU project is a follow up of the ESA-GSTP presented above. The goal being to develop the technology of solar 3D printing of lunar regolith to a TRL 5, including the manufacturing of samples under vacuum and manufacturing using a mobile printing head.
EU partners: Space Application Services (Belgium), COMEX (France), Liquifer (Austria) and Bollinger+Grohmann (Austria)
Work description:
- Coordination and writing of a successful proposal (award value €1,000,000)
- Use of the ESA-GSTP experience to help the partners in the hardware
- Solar sintering campaigns at the DLR solar oven facility in Cologne.
- Writing of deliverables.
2015 Engineer in the GraSound microgravity experiment
This experiment aims to better understand how soundwaves propagate through granular media in microgravity.
Work description:
- Engineer assisting Dr. Peidong Yu in the preparation of the experimental set up for ground tests, a drop tower campaign and a parabolic flight campaign.
- Engineering support in a drop tower campaign in February 2015.
- Engineering support in a parabolic flight campaign in November 2015.
