Personal statement:  I’m a junior and highly motivated Aerospace Engineer. I have already been involved in several engineering projects with different student teams in different international contexts. I’m looking for the opportunity to prove my skills and to further expand my engineering knowledge.

February 2017- September 2017          Space Debris Re-entry Analyst, Software developer

I was involved in a six-month internship in the Radiation and Debris Unit.                                 The main task of the internship was the development of a 6-DoF software for the re-entry analysis of satellites, which could be used as valid support for the ESA’s studies on satellites D4D and space debris analyses. Furthermore, I also partecipated in multiple activities concerning the maintenance and monitoring of the company’s Planetary Environment Simulation Chamber (PESCha).

During my period as visiting student at University of Strathclyde, I developed my MSc thesis by working at the cFASTT research Centre. I was involved in the development of 2.0 version of FOSTRAD aerodynamic/aerothermal module, which is a low-fidelity tool, capable of predicting the hypersonic atmospheric re-entry of a space object through all flow regimes.

Oct. 2015 – Sept. 2016                 Radiation Shielding designer, Mission Cost analyst

FATO Mars Team, Politecnico di Torino, Torino (Italy)

The team was born to participate in Gemini Mars Design Competition, promoted by the Mars Society. I was responsible for the Spacecraft radiation shielding design and mission cost analysis. I was also involved in the Spacecraft ECLSS sizing and design.

Team DIANA, Politecnico di Torino, Torino (Italy)

The team was born to represent the university in the AMALIA project (Google Lunar XPRIZE). Its research fields are space robotics and mechanical rover design. My role was to design the mechanical system deployment of the mast subsystem of the test-rover DIANA (3.0 version) and to design the chassis for the rover that will be part of University Rover Challenge international contest.

Title: Low-fidelity modelling for aerothermal characteristics of re-entry objects

Description: This thesis aims to explain the development a low-fidelity tool capable of evaluating the aerodynamic and aerothermal characteristics for the atmospheric reentry of a hypersonic object within extremely low CPU time and acceptable margin of error.
