Project work: X-Ray Picture Transmission from Remote Areas via Satellite. An earlier created compression algorithm was used and improved. The compressed X-Ray pictures were transmitted through the INMARSAT systems and the University of Surrey Satellites. The aim of the project was to model and test an easily implemented teleradiology system. The result was successful and published.

Since October 2003: Hellenic Telecommunication and Post Commission (EETT) as a senior engineer and Co-ordinator of the Broadcasting group of the Spectrum Monitoring Department.
As a senior engineer I design and conduct RF measurements in different frequency bands using the National Monitoring System. I have also taken part in the following: preparation of proposal for the expansion of the National Monitoring System to the entire Greek territory, member of the Greek delegation in the RRC conferences of ITU for Digital television and advisor to the EETT President on Digital TV issues, spectrum monitoring prior and during the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, preparation of technical reviews on co-existence of different wireless services (e.g. Broadcasting and Civil Aviation), member of the EETT working group on facilitating licensing of Mobile station antennas, member of the Ministry’s working group on Antenna farms. Member of the EETT’s delegation to the World Radio Conference - WRC’12.
As an administrative Co-ordinator I conduct procedures against Broadcasters that does not fulfill the technical requirements requested by Greek Law.
January 2002 – October 2003: G-Systems SA, Support/Consultant Engineer (RF and Microwaves) in the Test & Measurement department
Responsible on assessing and creating specifications and solutions in RF test & measurement problems. Analyse and propose suitable methods and set of instruments (spectrum & network analysers, power meters, etc) for telecomm/RF/microwave measurement needs. After sales support and training of clients both in Greece (OTE, COSMOTE, INTRACOM, Civil Aviation, EETT etc) and abroad.
Member of the technical group of the company, involved on the design and commissioning of telecommunication systems (TETRA, VHF) in the Attiki Odos tunnels, as a Project Engineer.

May 1997- March 2000: Research Assistant at the University of Surrey working in the area of 3rd Generation Mobile Terminals. The project was part of the Mobile VCE UK (Virtual Centre of Excellence), focusing on the development and background research of an intelligent quadrifilar helix antenna capable to adapt itself to variations of the environment, system and user interaction. Two international patents were awarded. During that period the following projects were conducted:
Design of a low profile antenna for satellite mobile phones for the ICO system (NERA, Norway)
Measurement and analysis of the depolarisation of the satellite to mobile signal created by an urban environment (VCE, UK)
Measurement and mathematical modelling (in Matlab) of the received noise temperature by a given antenna in a given environment and calculation of the figure of merit (G/T). Introduction of a new parameter called Effective Statistical G/T (ESGuT) which describes the performance of the overall wireless system (satellite, environment, user shadowing, antenna pattern) with a simple arithmetic value (VCE, UK)
Study and software development (in Matlab) of a system being capable of detecting sources of wide bandwidth noise which affects the quality of received TV signal (Radio Communication Agency, UK)
Study of a low frequency antenna with variable electrical characteristics to be used in communication between satellite and submarine (Thomson-Marconi, UK)
Study and design of several type of antennas in different frequency ranges (using relevant software ) to be used in measurement campaigns for different wireless telecommunication systems.
Management of research projects, preparation of tenders and preparation of specifications for laboratory equipment.
Supervisor of the Anechoic Chamber and of final year and MSc projects.
1996-2001: Professional freelancing translation from English into Greek. During my national service in the Military School of Telecommunications (ΣΕΤΤΗΛ) I worked in translating from English to Greek several technical books and manuals. Translation for the Greek edition of “Scientific American”
January 1995 - March 1997: During my full time PhD studies, I worked as a (part-time) laboratory demonstrator for the experiments of the MSc courses.
Summer 1992: Greek Telecommunications Organisation (OTE). Duties: Worked as a student appointed by the University of Patras for the implementation of the local digital telephone exchange (Ericsson AXE 10). Training on the digital telephone network was received.
