In this period I have taken care of the projects in respect of both the technical and the management side, including:

·         Analysing  and drafting specifications;

·         Identifying the best solution in contexts posed by technical constraints;

·         Designing system architectures through architectural patterns;

·         Evaluating design detail choices;

·         Keeping the project development under constant control;

·         Defining the life-cycle to be adopted according to the project.

 

My technical activity has been constantly exploiting the most recent computer science tools and technology, including UML (“Unified Modeling Language”) and MDA (“Model Driven Architecture”),  together with object oriented languages and both custom-made and standard frameworks. This attitude has led to the successful design of modern applications distributed over heterogeneous platforms, interconnected through local networks or via Internet.

 

I have gained a comprehensive experience in the space and avionics fields, simulations and simulators, designing fault-tolerant architectures for mission critical systems and distributed applications. Additionally, I have cooperated with groups, in search activities concerning component-based object-oriented design and in the specification of constraints, through UML, in real-time software systems.

·        Design and tuning of the helicopter autopilot both basic and upper modes.

Design of a distributed architecture based on the DIS (Distributed interactive simulation) simulation protocol. The application was aimed at the development of 2D and 3D simulation environments.

Design of the architecture of a pre-competitive middleware product and support tools for introducing fault tolerant features on top of market available platforms. The framework has been designed in order to satisfy requirements of tailorability, configurability and scalability.

Research project focused on the development of a methodology, on top of UML, able to take into account constraints and other real-time characteristics of a component based architecture.

CNR scholarship in Milan at the IAMI, “Istituto per le Applicazioni della Matematica e dell’Informatica” in:

Analysis of algorithms for surface reconstruction”.

Research based on the Mallat algorithm for decomposition and compression of images based on wavelet transforms.

Development of an algorithm, based on wavelet transforms, to protect the monotony of noise affected mono or bi-dimensional signals.

Analysis of an algorithm for the interpolation of scattered noisy data, based on a Levin model.
