Locomotive Durability Engineer

  • Provide accurate failure forecasts of locomotive parts for G.E. customers (CSX Transportation, BNSF, UP, Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, FMX, KCS, KCSM etc.) using statistical analysis while improving upon existing modeling methodologies.

  • Responsible for providing failure forecasts for Locomotive Trucks and Dampers which involve over 400 part numbers and typically have an impact in millions of dollars on G.E.s contract margin reviews.

  • Create and interpret Weibull and Crow AMSAA models. Run Monte Carlo simulations to generate future failure forecasts.

  • Play supporting role in Engineering Technical Reviews and assist new team members grasp statistical and data scrubbing methodologies.

  • Work closely with Design Engineers, Cost Analysts and Project Leaders to help enhance productivity.
