Goal: Characterization and modeling of the influence of rainfall intensity systems of satellite communications in Ka band.

Subtasks: To develop an alternative model based on the synthesis of the intensity precipitation using an approach similar to that used in the Rec. ITU-R P.1853 and then a conversion of synthesized time series of attenuation due to rain using the model described in the recommendation ITU-R P.838-3.
Once developed, the model will be tested against the experimental statistics collected by ONERA in Toulouse.
