Main activities and responsibilities

Works on the studying and development of integrity processing algorithms for ground receiver, specifically on the design, implementation and testing of algorithms for the Safety of Life service of Galileo/GPS/EGNOSGNSS system (e.g. HMI Probability Computation algorithm for CSPA, NWA computation and XPL computation). The algorithms have been defined in the following projects:

  • TUR (Test User Receiver): platform to be used to validate the Galileo system, as part of the Galileo Test User Segment. In this context she implemented also a Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (RAIM) technique: Brenner algorithm
  • GIRASOLE (GSA project), Galileo-GPS/EGNOS Safety-of-life Receiver suited to safety critical applications (commonly identified as Safety Of Life), particularly in the field of public transportation means (rail, avionics and maritime)
  • Pegasus project (SoL Receiver, ASI program ) – GPS and Galileo integrity, combined solution
  • Seneca project (Avionic receiver, ASI program) – Multisystem integrity and combined solution
  • Grail2 project (User Terminal for Rail Application) – User Terminal Safety and RAIM
  • HISTB (High Integrity regional augmentation System Test Bed) – GPS/GLONASS/SBAS (L1/L2)     GPS/GALILEO/SBAS (L1/L5) (MOPS-D DO/229 (HPL, VPL evaluation), EUROCAE specifications for dual frequency implementation)

Gained experience in the definition/implementation and testing of:

  • Solution algorithms (WLMS, DFPF)
  • Navigation Data processing (e.g. decoding of I/NAV, F/NAN, G/NAV Galileo messages, L2c/L5 GPS messages, GEO messages, GLONASS messages and their management in the RX navigation SW)
  • Measurement processing (e.g. ESA algorithm for tropospheric corrections computation, Nequick algorithm for ionospheric corrections)
