Instrument Business Analyst for several of LASP’s challenging projects; providing financial coordination and support for multiple complex, multiyear projects while ensuring compliance and successful execution.

  • Determining program status through the development of detailed budgets and forecasts; providing metrics to meet funding agency requests for program information; calculating and understanding variances; and working to keep program on schedule and within budget
  • Other functions performed include preparing management reports; monthly NASA reports according to contract guidelines; responding to other special reporting requirements; approving transactions for compliance with funding agency, CU and LASP regulations and policies

· Revised tax coding according to account type within primary software aligning and matching codes with tax reporting software.

President

Entrusted to revamp the only state-regulated, not-for-profit, private family trust company in Wisconsinto create a corporate model providing additional capacity and greater efficiency to an operation over 75 years old. The Trust Company had more than 125 trust, grantor or agency accounts without functional or stable technology/operating systems.  In addition, multiple, broker-custodied omnibus accounts held unsegregated trust assets at the time duties were assumed.

 

Major Contributions:

· Analysis of financial statements required top-down approach to budget identified several variances requiring minimal capital investment in order to provide greater cost efficiencies reducing variance in the long term.

· Separated and accounted for all trust/personal assets and income, consolidating broker holdings into a formal bank custody relationship with segregated account reporting.

· Initiated hardware and software conversion into a modern, stable operating network providing accurate financial and portfolio performance reporting.

· Identified and presented solution for tax and negligence issue involving a large borrowing from multiple trusts  Devised solution for whole life policy borrowings avoiding substantialtax consequences.

· Negotiated a settlement with a New Yorkwire house providing thousands in settlement proceeds to a family of trusts.

Solicited investors and borrowed cash to purchase insolvent operation as a turnaround investment. Used a top-down budgetary approach in restructuring manufacturing operations, defined a natural food product line, developed a new strategy for business development, defined a cost-effective distribution system and redefined the target client.

· Revamped operations and product line to bring company to the breakeven point in year one.
