Final year Project completed (72%) with a thesis entitled: “Holographic fabrication of diffractive optical elements in a photopolymer”
With the Industrial and Engineering Optics research group. Holographic optical elements were produced and the effect on diffraction efficiency after heat treatment was investigated.

Project work completed on: “Simulation of the propagation of galactic cosmic rays”
The propagation of GCR’s through the interstellar medium was modelled with C programming and Excel using data from the LDEF satellite.
June - October 2010:
I worked for a company called Energy Action on the European TABULA project. This project deals with a typology approach to building energy assessment in EU member states. I produced a detailed comparison between the Irish dwelling energy assessment procedure (DEAP) and the TABULA method for determining the energy usage/efficiency and CO2 emissions for all types of domestic buildings.
I worked for FAS (The Irish national training and employment agency) in Dublin city centre as a front-line Clerical Officer in Employment Services. My duties included dealing with the public, employers and giving guidance to clients on their employment options.
Summer months 2004 - 2007:
I worked for United Drug a pharmaceutical distributor based in Dublin. I was in the procurements department. Tasks included sourcing unlicensed medicines for pharmacies and hospitals, organising logistics for acquiring and delivering these products and general customer service. I supervised the department for six weeks during the absence of my colleague.
I worked with a company called Creative Training;I was responsible for computer maintenance and repair. Other tasks included networking and hard drive cloning.
INTERESTS, ACHEIVMENTS AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
I was a member of the Dublin Institute of Technology Physics society for four years; activities include a combination of academic seminars and social events. I held the position of society treasurer for two years; I was responsible for all financial aspects along with helping to organise events, trips and involved in the general running of the society.
I was also a member of the Dublin Institute of Technology Cultural and Social committee. This committee allocates funds and gives support to student societies and also organises student events.
I am a qualified building energy rating assessor (with distinction).
I hold a full European driving license and have eight years driving experience.
Completed Train the Trainer course, this involved learning to provide training courses, methods of teaching and developing presentation skills.
Represented Dublin Institute of Technology in a televised international intervarsity quiz (IQ Games), we finished second in Europe.
I have been involved in sports since an early age,Athletics (sprinting), Taekwondo (yellow belt) and played for two localFootball teams for several years.
I speak basic German.
I hold an Australian passport along with my Irish passport.
