Open to cooperation: a full-time position as an aerospace engineer and/or software developer

Willingness to relocate: yes

Experience
Engineering Consultant for Thales Alenia Space in Satellite Navigation, Toulouse, France: November 2012 - April 2013
Satellite navigation engineer for the European EGNOS program (supplement of the GPS and GLONASS systems): responsible for the operational algorithms involved in the Central Processing Facility subsystem (CPF); served as a technical intermediary between TAS and its subcontractors for the Processing Set and the Check Set subsystems during the V-Model development of the CPF: specify requirements, provide guidance to subcontractors, propose subsystem evolutions, participated in design and release reviews; use of IBM Doors to write requirements; short missions/travels in Europe

Engineering Consultant for Thales Alenia Space in AOCS flight software, Cannes, France: March 2012 - July 2012
1) Participated in validating the AOCS module of a satellite platform's flight software: tests' specification, programming and validation. 2) Calibrated the natural frequencies of a geostationary satellite's solar arrays for an AOCS simulation software from in-flight measurements: identification of resonant frequencies by Fourier analysis; analysis and visualisation tools developed in Python with Numpy and Matplotlib packages

Research ASSISTANT at The University of Texas at Austin with NASA-JSC, USA: 2008 - 2010
Study and development of a systematic method to calculate Moon-to-Earth return trajectories for a crewed spaceflight that can include several orbital transfers in the Sun-Earth-Moon system; this work was to assist the NASA team at Johnson Space Center, Houston TX, in the mission analysis of the Constellation program; this method would serve as a prototype for autonomous return trajectories for manned missions; complete high-fidelity simulations implemented in C++ with real-time 3D visualisation with the OpenSceneGraph framework; semimonthly teleconferences with NASA

Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin, USA: 2006 - 2008
Held office hours, graded students' homework and exams, prepared homework solutions, taught during discussion sessions, administered exams, for the following classes: spacecraft dynamics, linear system analysis, statics, dynamics

Research Assistant at The Center for Space Research, Austin, Texas, USA: 2004 - 2006
Computed the Earth's gravity field from data obtained from the Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite mission; work involved the assessment of the validity of the data, producing solutions of the Earth's gravity field that are then sent to NASA-JPL, running and monitoring the programs on TACC supercomputers (IBM Power5 system and Linux cluster)

Intern at The Côte d'Azur Observatory, Grasse, France: April 2002 - June 2002
Designed and implemented a differential method to compute with a higher precision the relative state vector of the co-orbiting twin satellites of the GRACE mission: determination of the analytical expression of the relative acceleration of the system, development of the numerical code in Fortran, and testing of the precision of this method

Intern at EADS Astrium Space Transportation, Les Mureaux, France: February 2001 - July 2001
Flight dynamics and control of re-entry spacecraft: participated in the design and development of an analysis tool of the dynamic stability and controllability of re-entry spacecraft, based on the HERMES spaceplane program

Intern at SNECMA rocket engines division, Vernon, France: July 2000 - September 2000
Study of a H-infinity robust control for Ariane 5 Vulcain rocket engine: theoretical study of the H-infinity control, modelling of the engine and of the uncertainties of its parameters, synthesis of the controller, implementation of the system using SIMULINK; control law computed using MATLAB, with the µ-Analysis and Synthesis toolbox
