From March 2006 to September 2009, I led and coordinated the Spanish Test Team for the James Webb Space Telescope – Mid Infrared Instrument (MIRI), and was involved in the tasks of the Operations and Science Working Groups. My duties included performing and designing tests for the Verification and Flight Modules, verifying instrument requirements and scientific performance, test planning and scheduling, telemetry and data analysis, developing and maintaining simulation software, writing reports and documentation (including operation plans and procedures). I was also responsible for the coordination with other teams across Europe and the USA, as well as presentation of our results to the MIRI engineering and scientific community. All tasks were carried out successfully and ahead of schedule. Furthermore, our team was several times acknowledged for exceeding expectations.
