  • Troubleshoot, install, repair and maintain Block 40/42 F-16 avionics systems including UHF/ VHF communications, navigation aids, flight controls, radar systems, SNIPER XR and LANTIRN targeting pods including changing Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) as well as associated electronic components.
  • Oversee 13 to 15 avionics technicians, conduct over-the-shoulder inspections, provide mentoring, guidance, training and assist in troubleshooting.
  • Isolate faults, interpret system failures and repair wire harnesses using schematics, wiring diagrams, troubleshooting trees, blueprints and technical data.
  • Utilize test equipment such as fluke meters, watt meters, volt meters, flight control test stands, hydraulic test equipment and navigation test equipment to diagnose issues.
  • Coordinate with engineering department and Lockheed Martin representatives to conduct in-depth troubleshooting or elusive fault isolation as needed.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to verify maintenance performed daily; verify safety, accuracy and compliance with technical specifications and clear aircraft for return to service.
  • Balance sense of urgency with dedication to quality to achieve 87% equipment availability – well above 83% standard – and manage time effectively to achieve 85.7% 8-hour fix rate.
