CV

GOAL WITH THE EMPLOYMENT

To work in an international environment as an Applied Physics Engineer, preferable within R&D. I am especially interested in experimental physics, measurement techniques, simulations/modeling/data processing (MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python etc.), photonics and nano-physics. A combination of theory, simulations and experiments is desired.

MAIN SKILLS

- Master of Science in Engineering Physics

- Work experience of Radio Frequency Systems & Software Engineer from ESA’s Young Graduate ---Trainee program

- Language: Swedish (Native), English (fluent), German (fair)

- Committee & student associations active

- Taken several international courses abroad

EDUCATION

2008–2013: Engineering Physics MSc, Chalmers University of Technology (300hp, 5 years)

In my master of science program Applied Physics I learned even more simulation & modeling, computational physics, experimental physics, material physics, nano-physics and imaging techniques.

My master thesis, Transportable Optical Frequency Comb, was performed at the measurement department of SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden. The first part of the work was focused on to understand how a commercial optical frequency comb works in detail; which essentially consists of a pulsed laser, free-space optical equipment and control electronics. This system is naturally sensitive for several environmental parameters (mainly temperature, humidity and vibration). Thereafter I investigated how to adjust it to be long distance transportable and verify the result with frequency measurements with an external laser; in which I used Allan Variance plot for stability and noise determinations. I especially learned aboutoptoelectronics, free-space optics, metrology and optical frequency measurements.

My bachelor thesis, Exploration of Quantum Decay in Modulated Potential Wells, was performed at MC2, the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience at Chalmers. The work was focused on quantum Zeeno effect, which required analytical calculations compared with simulations in MATLAB.

I have through the years learned how to use the software: MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, Mathematica, LaTeX and Java; in which I have performed simulations, modeling, algorithm writing and data processing.

2005-2008: Natural Science Program (Upper Secondary School)

Read both Natural Science and Math-Computer orientation, augmented by extra courses to 3150 points (2500 points Annual, 2750 with the final grade). Read particular German Step 5, English C, Swedish C, Psychology and Organization & Leadership.

EMPLOYMENT

2014-2015: European Space Agency (Young Graduate Trainee program)

The YGT project is performed at ESA’s European Space Operation Center facility at the division of Human Space Operations in the section Ground Stations Systems. It is furthermore in collaboration with the GNSS facility at ESOC and has Timetech as main supplier of equipment.

In this project I am assisting the realization of the universal coordinated time of ESOC, whichwill be used as a local time reference for ESOC and its space applications. It consists of acomplex setup of RF & GNSS timing equipment with the need of real time monitoring and data processing. I am involved in the system setup, characterization and monitoring.

My main tasks have been:

- Characterization of the time reference equipment and its environment (includes stability and noise floor measurements using Allan deviation calculations, RF equipment delay measurements and investigating environmental parameters)

- Trend analysis of Hydrogen Maser parameters using MATLAB (sensitive to several environmental parameters as well as to natural aging and hydrogen depletion)

- Creating application specific software for real time monitoring and data processing, e.g. a software for the Phase Comparator in LabVIEW for data acquisition (via TCP packages), data processing (OADEV, DAVAR stability calculations and visuality) and automatic upload to FTP-server.

Software used in particular: MATLAB, LabVIEW, Stable32, Network protocol analyzer, Telnet & SSH & FTP clients

Equipment used in particular: Hydrogen Maser, Phase Comparator, Timing Receivers, Micro Phase Stepper (Frequency Offset Generator)

2012 - 2013: My Academy (extra work)
I was Study Coach for high school and secondary students. The teaching was mainly in math, physics and study skills but also other subjects. I improved my skills in explaining and motivating.

2012 - 2013: Komet (extra work)
I drove fork lift truck for Michelin and a bearing job at CapTech. I learned to work ergonomically and efficient to meet the deadlines.

2010 & 2011: Emmaboda Parish Union (summer work)
I was Caretaker of the facilities for two consecutive summers; I also had partly responsibility over the younger summer workers. I learned to plan the work and be effective.

2008 – 2011: Frösunda (part time)
I was a personal assistant. It taught me to be patient, positive and stay friendly.

2008: Xylem (summer work)
I drove fork lift truck, took care of furnaces, used arc and compressed air drill.

CONFIDENCE MISSION/VOLUNTARY COMMITMENT

2009-2011: SNF (Study Board Physics), RepresentativeChalmers
I worked as a middleman between teachers and students. Discussed study questions and resolved conflicts. I learned a lot about clauses and communication.

2009 -2010: FIF (Physics Sports Committee), Member and Treasurer, Chalmers
I led training sessions and was in charge of economy. I got better leading skills and I took charge of both the economy and activities.

2013-2014: BEST (Board of European Student of Technology), Member, Chalmers
I was arranging engineering competitions and I was main organizer of summer courses in technology.

INTERNATIONAL COURSES (Bonding and BEST)

2013 Oct: Board of European Student of Technology (BEST) course in Brussels (Belgium):
International course about optical fiber communication and lasers.

2013 Sept: Board of European Student of Technology (BEST) course in Dalyan (Turkey)

2013 Aug: Bonding-studenteninitiative course in Kaiserslauthern/Karlsruhe (Tyskland):
International course about materials (mostly plastics, composites & polymers)

2013 Juni: Bonding-studenteninitiative course in Berlin/Dresden (Tyskland):
International course about sustainable development.

These international courses gathered students from virtually all of Europe and lasted about 10 days. This gave me the opportunity to learn a lot in addition to the course topic; especially about different cultures and I also had the opportunity to fresh up my language skills.
