    CV

I am an alumnus of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Maribor, where I was enrolled in the masters study programme of electrical engineering, specifically the study option electronics. I have previously finished a bachelor study of physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Ljubljana.

Currently I work as a Verilog FPGA systems developer at a company based in Maribor, Slovenia. I have a probation period at this company from 17 March 2017 till 18 June 2017, after then I will receive a full-time job. I have developed a SPI core for a 8/16-bit rad-hard soft-core processor. I have created a Verilog PLI interface server, which enables debugging of the virtual microprocessor, simulated in HDL simulator, using GNU GDB, ported specifically for this processor. I also help preparing the extensive documentation and user manuals for this microprocessor and its peripherals, and work as a consultant for the radiation testing of the processor.

Previously I have worked at the Institute IRNAS in Maribor. My tasks at the company involved design of printed circuit boards, programming of integrated systems in Arduino, programming of FPGA and CPLD circuit boards using the VHDL language, developing control electronics for stepper motors in CNC machines, and compiling bills of materials, and specifying items that were needed to be procured. I have developed an integrated version of Safecast bGeigie device, an open-source mobile survey Geiger counter, and CNC machine remote control modules, using Toslink optical cables. I have contributed to the development of an open-source open-hardware system for optical communications, called Koruza. I also contributed to many other random projects at the institute.

When I was a student at the University of Maribor, I participated in the TRISAT project which is a scientific and technological space mission by the University of Maribor and its industrial partners, in collaboration with the European Space Agency. The goal of the mission is to design the first Slovenian nanosatellite. My contribution is a software for the satellite’s overflight simulation and exact calculation of its orbit.

During my studies, I spent three weeks working at the company Lx Navigation d.o.o in Celje, Slovenia, where I was designing integrated systems for the navigation of glider airplanes. I was mainly programming STM32 microcontrollers in C++ language. I have also developed an improved version of a digital filter, which is used in LX's variometers.

During my study, I also spent one month at the Elti d.o.o in Gornja Radgona, Slovenia, where I have designed a software, which is used for testing of the embedded system, which is used in Elti's DVB-T television transmitters. The software is written in C# programming language and it communicates with the system using UART interface.

For my master’s thesis I have created a vector network analyzer (VNA), which enables measurement of scattering parameters (S parameters) of the electronic circuits. The measuring instrument is build as an USB HID device. It is controlled via a graphical user interface, which is running on a personal computer and enables plotting of measurement data and calibration of the instrument. The GUI is written in C# programming language, and the instrument’s firmware in C programming language. I have designed all PCBs in Altium Designer. For the RF analysis of the circuit, I have used the AWR Microwave Office. I have also worked extensively with a commercial VNA and a spectrum analyser.

During my freetime I love hiking, jogging and mountain biking. I am also an amateur astronomer and a space ethusiast. I also like learning foreign languages. I work occasionally on small electronics projects and trying to learn new programming languages. I love creating physics simulations in Open Gl.

I am fluent in Slovenian, English and German, and have basic knowledge of Swedish, Croatian and Hungarian. I am currently learning Swedish language.

I have a good knowledge of C, C++, C#, VHDL and Verilog. I also know Linux shell scripts, Windows bash scripts, Python, GNU Makefile, TCL, Open GL, Open CL, DirectX9.

I am responsible, creative, reliable, accurate and persistent. Being a glass half-full type of person, I do not shy away from new challenges. A dynamic work environment that challenges me and that requires quick problem-solving skills is where I thrive. I would be delighted to demonstrate my skills and know-how in your organisation. I have a driving licence for categories AM, B1, B, G, and my own transport.

I am looking forward to hear from you soon.
