- Designing the fluid systems in terms of functional needs, system architecture and choice of fluids for all the company fluids’ systems (launcher, ground, and test facilities)
- Choosing the appropriate components to realize the chosen functions
- Modelling the behavior of the system to validate the design
- Defining how the system needs to be operated
- Guarantee the safety and reliability of the designed system
- Analyze test results to make sure the system responded as designed
- Optimize built systems to gain in reliability and efficiency
Responsibilities
Tasks and missions
As Fluid Systems Engineer you will participate in several tasks around fluidic simulation, testing and integration of both ground and on-board equipment. To test all elements of the engine, multiple test benches will be integrated before the end of this year. After which, both stages will need to be integrated and tested as well. The test results will need to be analyzed to see how the system responded in real life conditions.
- Identify all the fluid functions for vehicle and ground proximity means (filling, pressurization, and conditioning facilities)
- Carry-out sizing studies of the different processes
- Dynamic modeling of fluid processes
- Search for appropriate technical solutions
- Participate in vehicle integration studies with other departments (propulsion, architecture and industrial departments)
- Define detailed specifications for fluid systems components and collaborate with suppliers ensuring compliance with quality standards and technical requirements.
- Write operational documentation of fluid processes for program development reviews.
- Develop the test logic of the ground segment and stages installations.
- Analyze test results in order to continuously improve vehicle performance.
- Liaise with other engineering departments (structures, avionics, quality, etc) in order to understand the systems various constraints such as mechanical, electrical, control command and environmental.

- Good understanding of fluids mechanic, thermodynamic and modelisation
- Knowledge on valves technologies, pressure regulators and industrial piping is a plus
- Hands-on experience with modeling software (ecosim) is also a plus as well as with CAD software (NX, Catia…), CFD software (Fluent, Star CCM+) and programming languages (Python, MatLab, Fortran)
- Flexible attitude towards iterative designs
- Effective team player with good communication skills
