The successful candidate will be joining Open Cosmos’ systems team and will be responsible to technically manage the development and implementation of satellite missions to fulfil the company needs as well as providing providing AOCS expertise across company missions, while feeding onto the product roadmap to continuously improve our services with a very customer centric attitude.
What will you be doing?

- Lead the delivery of space missions being the mission technical responsible;
- Coordinate different technical teams to deliver a consistent technical solution;
- Be a reference person for AOCS-related tasks, taking responsibility for the timely delivery of AOCS solutions;
- Produce and manage requirements and verification plans, perform system level analysis, calculations and trade-offs;
- Create and implement MBSE methodologies, tools and processes;
- Deliver FMECA and FDIR analysis;
- Support in the AIT/AIV phases of the missions;
- Develop AOCS solution algorithms, and perform validation testing both on-ground and in-orbit;
- Perform hands-on testing for anomaly debugging on flight hardware, both on ground testing and in-orbit during LEOP, commissioning and operations;
- Support bid work, sales team, mission and operations teams, customer support or any other teams within the company with technical information and documentation;
- Commit to fulfil customer requirements and expectations and managing communication with partners and suppliers.
What you need to be successful

- You will need strong knowledge of all aspects of a space mission to enable independent decision making and continuous improvement programmes;
- You’ll be performing system design tasks, so be ready to manage requirements and utilise MBSE tools, implement FMECA and design FDIR, manage system budgets, perform trade-off studies;
- You will need strong background in topics related to AOCS, such as orbital mechanics, pointing and stability budgets, orbital simulation tools;
- Proficiency with Matlab/simulink, ideally in AOCS related implementations;
- Expertise in managing pointing and stability budgets, along with supporting their validation through lab testing;
- To coordinate with other technical teams involved in the design process you should have a good knowledge of all the main satellite subsystems, in addition to AOCS: power system, on-board data handling, comms, propulsion, mechanical, thermal;
- You’ll be communicating a lot, so be confident in speaking, listening and writing, sometimes within large groups including customers;
