Kuva Space is seeking a dynamic and experienced Satellite Supply Chain Manager to lead our supply chain operations for satellite development and deployment. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain processes, from procurement of components and subsystems to the delivery of satellites into orbit/launch. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering and finance to ensure that our supply chain is efficient, cost-effective, and resilient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with the company’s goals for satellite development and deployment;
- Procurement of satellite subsystems, components, materials, and services. Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality;
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements. Perform supplier audits;
- Optimize inventory levels to balance availability and cost. Implement strategies to manage lead times and reduce supply chain risks;
- Coordinate the logistics of transporting satellite components and subsystems from suppliers to manufacturing facilities and eventually to launch sites;
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity in satellite production and deployment;
- Continuously analyze the supply chain to identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or timelines;
- Work closely with the engineering team during satellite development. Share insights on supplier capabilities and lead times, and calculate direct and indirect material costs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field;
- +5 years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on high tech. Experience in Aerospace or New Space companies is a plus;
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and best practices;
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, including understanding of contractual law;
- Proficient in supply chain management software and tools;
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Proficiency in English is required. Finnish language skills are an advantage;
- Possibility to travel as needed;
- Ability to make quick decisions and work sustainably in a busy environment;
