Key duties:

  • Sizing of Loops based on applicable requirements, e.g. heat loads to be collected and rejected, pressure drops, air velocities, humidity range allowed into the Cabin, pressure ranges to be ensured, failure tolerance, etc...;
  • Selection of Equipment (e.g. Pump Packages, Cold Plates, Radiators, Heat Exchangers, Valves, Sensors, Fan Assemblies, Air Diffusers, Gas and Water Tanks, Pressure Regulators, etc..) and Piping Constituents (e.g. hard and flex ducts, junctions, clamps, etc..);
  • Definition of Loops Layout and Piping routing;
  • Preparation of Technical Specifications for Equipment procurement;
  • Technical follow-up of design, development, manufacturing, qualification and acceptance phase activities of Equipment Providers;
  • Detailed evaluation of proposal and review (PDR, CDR, QR) data packages released by Equipment Providers, from technical and programmatic standpoints;
  • Engineering contribution to piping manufacturing, procurement and integration;
  • Support to Quality Assurance for discussion and disposition of NCRs during Equipment and piping manufacturing, integration and testing activities;
  • Reporting to internal and external Customers.

Skills, experience and qualifications required:

  • At least Aerospace Engineering degree or equivalent with following experience;
  • Deep knowledge of thermo-fluid dynamic fundamentals;
  • Good knowledge of Space Hardware Life Cycle (design, development, manufacturing and verification/qualification/acceptance) processes and applicable standards;
  • Good knowledge of ATCS & ECLS main requirements, functions, architectures and Equipment for Manned Infrastructures and Transportation Vehicles;
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing materials, processes and techniques relevant to thermal fluid Equipment and Piping;
  • Good attitude towards teaming and multi-disciplinary approaches;
  • Available to work in shifts if requested by the program;
  • Good attitude towards analysis, synthesis and problem solving;
  • Good knowledge of English language (spoken and written).
