Product Assurance (PA) Manager

SATLANTIS is seeking a Product Assurance (PA) Manager to ensure the highest standards of product quality, safety, and reliability for an astrophysics mission for the European Space Agency (ESA). While your primary focus will be on this ESA mission, you will also contribute to ensuring the quality of other Satlantis developments. In this role, you will establish and maintain rigorous product assurance processes, working across teams to identify and mitigate risks, and ensuring that all deliverables meet ESA’s and Satlantis’ stringent quality requirements.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Product Assurance Process Management: Develop, implement, and maintain PA processes, ensuring compliance with ESA standards and best practices throughout the project lifecycle;
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks related to product quality, safety, and reliability, ensuring early detection and management of potential issues;
- Supplier and Subcontractor Quality Control: Oversee and coordinate quality assurance activities with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to specified quality and reliability standards;
- Non-Conformance Management: Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), leading investigations and ensuring corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented;
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain PA documentation, including risk management plans, quality assurance reports, non-conformance reports, and product audit reports;
- Review Participation: Represent the PA function in various project reviews and boards, including NRB (Non-conformance Review Board), IRR (Integration Readiness Review), TRR (Test Readiness Review), and PTR (Post-Test Review);
- Audits and Inspections: Lead internal audits and support external audits (such as ESA audits) to verify that PA processes and requirements are being met.
Position Requirements
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Product Assurance roles for space projects;
- Education: Master’s degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
Desired Experience & Strengths
- Familiarity with ESA projects and ECSS;
- Experience with space-related optical payloads and hardware;
- Strong understanding of risk management, quality control, and non-conformance resolution;
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to work proactively in a team-oriented environment, with a results-driven mindset;
- Agile and flexible, capable of working across geographically distributed teams.
Languages
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. Negotiation level in Spanish is considered a plus.
