Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled User Terminal solution architect to join our team and play a critical role in developing the definition, the specification, the validation, transfer to production and type approval strategy of some of the user terminals in Eutelsat Group’s terminal portfolio . In this position, you’ll work closely with the systems engineering, the technical and commercial product management and the system integration program management groups of the organisation and external partners , contributing directly to our ongoing projects and initiatives. Who You Are
An experienced professional with systems engineering, technical product management, regulatory certification, end to end system integration and troubleshooting as well as technical development program management background ideally in the Satellite Communications industry.
What You’ll Do
The candidate will be part of the Eutelsat Group User Terminal (UT) Engineering, Development and Production team within the Eutelsat Group Systems Engineering group.
The candidate will contribute to Eutelsat efforts, work with systems engineering, system development program and product development teams (internal and external to Eutelsat Group) and support the recruitment efforts where applicable to build the Eutelsat Group teams that will ultimately own the following capabilities:
- Represent the Eutelsat Group Systems Engineering team in User Terminal (UT) Development, Delivery, Production related work packages, and where applicable, own such work packages;
- Provide UT System Engineering authority support to development and system integration and certification work packages;
- Participate in the definition of the future generation user terminal architectural blocks and interfaces;
- Provide UT Technical Product Management expertise to define and establish the User Terminal HW and SW Architecture identifying physical and logical elements;
- Own, review and manage the processes governing the definition of the User Terminal System technical and product specifications;
- Collaborate with system architecture, solution architecture, hardware, software, teams on ensuring cross-functional derived requirements and deliverables are identified and tracked;
- Act as repository of UT System & Regulatory Specifications, UT Internal and External ICDs, UT Local and Remote User Interface Features, including Security related system and local requirements;
- Be the repository of the UT requirement compliance process and provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) Support to UT development design reviews, product test and acceptance as well as end to end system integration campaigns;
- Where applicable, be accountable for third party contractual relationships, e.g. SOW, Contract, budget and schedule management, reporting to program office and IRIS2 program stakeholders;
- Work with Eutelsat Group engineering leads, product/program management, partner ecosystem, and end-customer IT/technology network teams to ensure that user terminal and system acceptance testing and validation meets schedule and quality requirements.
What You’ll Need
- Previous working experience in User Terminal development, certification & Systems Engineering for 8-10+ years preferably within the Satellite Communications industry;
- Experience in communications systems systems engineering requirement generation, testing and validation methodologies preferably in the areas of user terminal development and ideally encompassing various segments, e.g. land mobility, maritime and/or aeronautical;
- Hands-on experience on satellite user terminal technology & troubleshooting;
- Degree in Telecommunications, Satellite Communications and/or Computer Science degree with emphasis in wireless communications, or equivalent work experience;
- Technical product or program management experience;
- Hands-on work managing complex wireless technology deployments;
- Experience working directly with engineering teams, either satellite or cellular technology.
